The issue with Angel is she brought a lot of this on herself. Publicly proclaiming yourself to be the best player in the country. Or a great player just like A’ja. Or the reason people watch women’s basketball. Saying you want all the smoke. While also struggling to shoot above 40% in the paint, as a big, is going to garner scrutiny and memes. Add to that her penchant for playing the victim and people are going to go even harder.

And, if we’re being real honest, being in year 3 of your professional career and still struggling with fundamentals is crazy work. There is no question she is an ELITE rebounder. But numerous people have coached and worked with her on her finishing. Including the great Lisa Leslie who told her to her face she needs to work on her layups and then spent time working one on one with her. And there’s been no improvement. One could even argue she’s regressed in that area. She’s the worst finisher in the league and has the most blocked shot of anyone in the league because she lacks fundamentals.

It’s entirely fair to criticize her game. It’s professional sports. She doesn’t need to be coddled. She needs to be in the gym doing Mikan drills.

Let’s make this uncomfortable:

I respect women too much to pretend biological sex is just a label anyone can claim. I have nothing against transgender people living however they choose—that’s their business. But I will not be bullied into pretending biology doesn’t exist.

Women experience menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and the lifelong biological realities of being female. Those experiences matter. Respecting someone’s identity does not require me to erase biological sex.

And yes, I STAND WITH SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM. She should be allowed to express her views without being bullied, threatened, or told she has no right to speak.

You can disagree with me. You can disagree with Sophie. But disagreement does not equal hate, and nobody gets to dictate what other people are allowed to believe.

If that makes people uncomfortable, so be it. 🔥
