Big fortnight for West Ham. Engels should add something in midfield but more is needed there, lack of attacking cover on the bench, and clearly still issues with the team’s mentality in difficult moments (plus with Nuno’s attempts to hold on to leads)

Sullivan did get them up at first time of asking in 2012. Maybe Nuno is this year’s Allardyce. But what West Ham did then was keep Green, Noble, Cole, Tomkins, Reid: a solid core. They also signed Nolan from a Premier League side. They were well set to go again.

Exactly. You have to build from the ground up even if you have to knock it all down. It’s no good just repainting the same flawed structure.

It’s all well and good West Ham saying they would have finished 7th based on the last 17 games, but they didn’t, they finished 18th. Nuno had 33 games and messed up the first half. One of his signings didn’t score, one didn’t start a game.
