The site allows users to donate securely, submit pledges, report emergencies, and locate nearby shelters. It is designed to serve Jamaicans at home and abroad who wish to assist with national recovery efforts.

International reggae icon Jimmy Cliff has died, his family announced Monday.

In a post to his official social media pages, his wife Latifa Chambers said Cliff passed away after a battle with pneumonia which followed a seizure. He was 81.

Reaching the unreachable.

These places aren’t just random spots on a map for me—this is where my mother’s side of the family is from. 
Yesterday I travelled through Ginger Hill, Merry Hill, Mahogany Hill, Claremont, Maybole, New Holland, and more. I truly wish I could have reached and provided aid for EVERYONE. 🥹
I stopped at homes that were severely damaged, calling people out to make sure they received supplies. I climbed hills, went down narrow lanes—whatever it took to reach as many people as possible.

I focused on these areas because they’re not the “popular” or easily accessible places. They’re very remote, very rural communities—yet they’re home to thousands of people.
✔️ Over 600 care packages
✔️ Over 100 cases of water
✔️ Tarpaulins
✔️ Baby products
✔️ Toiletries
✔️ Clothing
✔️ Shoes

To be honest, nothing looks the same. Places I’ve visited countless times were almost unrecognizable. It was a humbling day. These communities will need support for a LONG time.
Many people lost their homes, their farms, their businesses—everything they’ve worked for their entire lives.
But what stood out most? So many of them were still trying their hardest to stay in good spirits. 🥹

To everyone who donated or even shared a post—thank you. I’m deeply grateful.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness recently visited the Darliston Health Centre in Westmoreland, where residents and staff have been affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

The Bhishm Cube, donated by the Government of India, was utilized to support patient care and treatment at the facility.

On Saturday November 8, the Police Emergency Communication Centre led by Superintendent Stacey-Ann Powell and team, Sergeant Blake from the Strategic Operations Portfolio and Sergeant Michael Gray and team from the Rio Bueno Police in collaboration with Tankwell Limited, Toolgie Kay Catering, and IMCACAT Jamaica, distributed Care Packages and warm meals to residents in the communities of Rio Bueno, Braco and Calabar district in Trelawny affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Southern Trelawny – Post-Hurricane Melissa Update

Our assessment of Southern Trelawny has confirmed serious damage to infrastructure. Landslides, road breakaways and separations were found in communities such as:
•Lowe River
•Highgate Hall
•Stettin
•German Town
•Dutch Hill
•Troy Bridge

These impacts have disrupted residents and affected livestock and farming activity.

Despite the challenges, we are committed to restoring access and rebuilding these areas stronger and more resilient.
