Assessments will always be a part of the classroom. One way to make them more beneficial is to make a rubric with clear criteria, a clear scoring system, and clear levels of performance for each criteria.

Setting up the environment of your classroom is crucial to how the students will act. They react well to having clear expectation and rules, it is also a good idea to allow the students to help make the rules.

Planning for a class has a lot going into it. It is important to look at teacher instructed learning as well as student directed learning. Start by identifying the results you want the students to reach and work backwards.

Personally I never had classes that were learner directed instruction, however learning about it makes me want to teach in this way to guide and scaffold lessons but allow more student input and interaction for better learning.

Being enthusiastic when teaching and teaching students that learning is fun will create a positive mindset. Then when students face challenges and contents they do not enjoy they can still enjoy the learning aspect

Positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement both help the likelihood of the behavior occurring again. The positive is when something positive is added to motivate. The negative is when something not good is removed which helps the behavior be more likely to occur again.

Finding your students zone of proximal development will help the students not get bored, stay focused and on task, and give them motivation, making the class more fun for both the teacher and the students.

Higher levels of teacher self-efficacy will make help the students have higher self-efficacy. So it is important to start building the confidence in the classroom now, even in student teaching or observations.
