@nourishworkplce@MartynReah Another great day! Returned to the top of Hampshire full of ideas and inspiration! Looking forward to Monday, back in the classroom, things to try!!
@Samanth68350322 It does! Keep everything in perspective. Consider how effective your 'marking' is. Is it having an impact on learning? Is the impact relative to your effort? Spend a bit of time reading/researching marking with impact. Whole class feedback can be your friend here!!
How can you identify zinc metal? Strange question perhaps? We have dissolved the melt once it cooled after the molten electrolysis of zinc chloride, and now have potentially small flecks of zinc metal on our filter paper. Some of my pupils are not convinced!!! Any ideas?
Reminder - Thursday is take your colander to work day. 11.13 BST on Thursday go outside with your pupils and safely observe partial eclipse by looking at the pattern on the ground as the sun shines through the holes in the colander. π
@adamboxer1@MrARobbins Fine. Appreciate that we are all entitled to our view, just hope, in line with good scientific practice, you raise your concerns directly with the author too, allowing their response.
@adamboxer1@MrARobbins Pupils need a blend of instructional teaching and the opportunity to apply and extend that knowledge, which can come from an investigtive or problem solving approach. We need to be clear why we teach science at 11 to 19.
