Win - Win - Win
and a "big" invoice at the end.
I did try to explain my job and work to some acquaintances and the best way I have actually found, was that it is actually somewhat of a sales job.
Just that you have to do 3 sales until you get paid.
First you sell your service to your client as the prospective employer.
Second you sell the idea of changing jobs to your prospective candidate and also sell him on your client company.
Third you sell both on each other, so they actually want to work together now and for a longtime perspective.
Once you get that done, you do get paid.
There are way more little nuances in recruiting and headhunting, but that is about it for the general gist.
@DefiantLs Was McCarthy right???
Certainly not in most things. And fear is never a good counselor.
It does seem that a lot of what he and they tried to fight, is resurfacing under new and different names.
In any case, would it not be boring, when it is just easy sailing?
Trust is Earned? Trust is Given? Trust is Lost?
I will tell you and stand by that, that I always put a modicum of faith and trust in everyone I meet.
But at the same time, I always tell anyone I meet not to trust anyone at first sight.
Does that make me a hypocrite? Maybe. A victim for sure.
Is it the smartest way to go? Surely, not.
Still feels right to do so.
P.S.: What screws me in the end is not the trust brought upon in the beginning, but trusting people once I should have already known better.
@ManOfFocus_ Most men will never make 100k per month. Most will not even make 100k per year.
But those that do are certainly different and while their bedrooms look a little bigger, the picture is actually quite accurate.
Progress sometimes means going backwards ...
... to actually learn the right way forward.
No progress at all - that is something else. Unless you are a buddhist monk, where the concept of progress is highly suspect, you will need some kind of progress and be it backwards even for a while.
Want to know about my progress?
Went from nothing to 6-figures. Went to nothing again. Went even further down. Thought to reach Rock-Bottom. Was Wrong. Went down further. Now getting back up.
(Each step was progress though ...)
The best entertainers on X right now:
- Elon Musk
- Sneako
- Andrew Tate
- Erling Haaland
- FIFA/Gianni Infantino (by reference)
- President Trump
Two of those will always stay on top.
Not judging any of their content, but certainly some of the funnest to follow to just dull your mind and/or get your blood pressure up.
That is true.
There may also be a fallacy or wrong-think in there.
You may judge yourself harshly and feel like you have not progressed the way you thought. Therefore you beat yourself up, while you have already lapped most of the competition.
Of course, that part is only true for the few.
@KevinSzabo14 True, not proposing it.
Just that there are two ways to go.
All equal at the bottom or inequality and a higher standard of living with the possibility of reaching highest heights. Just seems for many it seems more desireable to not excel as long as others do not either ...
@russellbrunson Or when we have bounced of the wall with a sufficiently bloody nose, we look for ways to climb over it, go around it or tunnel under it.
Paying for Everyone while Selling Shoes to Fat Stinky Women.
That's what life feels like.
Been shelling out the bucks for "consulting", "business partnerships" and many other stupid endeavors.
Ever had this feeling?
Al Bundy never won (I don't think ...), but I refuse to give up and give in.
Thus you see a different Timo.
In any case, can always go back to selling shoes ;-)
Plus Al did have a hot wife, although she was a nag.
