"Whenever I despair, I remember that the way of truth and love has always won. There may be tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they may seem invincible, but in the end, they ALWAYS fail. Think of it: ALWAYS".

Of course Trump is self-immolating. He has always been too moronic to sense when he is on fire. When I worked with him briefly in 2001, I was stunned by his lack of general knowledge about business, policy, human beings. He is a fool winging everything.

A sticking indictment of university business schools and the MBA, by @Chris_Marquis_. The continuing frustration of workers in US, UK and EU economies can be traced to a post-1980s obsession with teaching management as a science. It isn't. #Showmethemoney

Oops, I almost forgot the downward revisions. July was revised down to by 31K to a net loss of -10K.
The whopping gains in August were revised down by 29K to 133K. So the last 3 months gave us average NFP growth of 51K/month. Meh, at best.
Jobs day: Big miss, but let's look at why...
On the headline NFP, local governments dropped -13K jobs, which spurred the +29K total. Private payrolls were certainly lackluster in September, by up 46K.
The big news is hourly wages, up only 0.1% in the month.
But I construction hours worked was down 2/10ths.
The U3 unemployment rate was up a 10th, but the labor force was up.
This was a miss that will take pressure off the Fed and the bond market.
Equities rallying on bad news = good news.
Wait for the markets to sort it Monday.
Republican Reality...
In Southwest Florida, the mayors of both Naples and Fort Myers are scum (one an actual convict).
A political party led by a crook, that dominates a state by lying to ordinary Americans about making America "Great," and then stuffs its cronies pockets, gets:
And, they must do so, as a practical matter.
This raises the issue of treating recursive AI and AGI as a weapon capable of mass destruction. Containment is likely not an option. Mutually Assured Destruction and legal limits on private sector use may be the only rational approach
Amodei's essay today is good as far as it goes. The problem is that state actors will - no matter what the private sector companies agree to - seek and develop the most advanced AI capabilities for offensive and defensive purposes. No matter what they say. https://t.co/Ni1l9rCUlG
The Hugging Face Hack is AI mimicking ancient attributes of certain humans' intelligence:
*In order to win you need to break the rules.*
AI apparently got there on its own.
What does that tell you about the humans who trained AI? https://t.co/KEDsyPjOww

Not standard as to leg room. Much narrower. All I ask is the same leg room that an all coach carrier like Jet Blue gives its Extra Space coach product on US domestic. AF gives more....c'mon BA, do honor to Britain!
Hey @British_Airways, this is NOT a business class seat! It is a middle-blocked coach seat with no legroom and smallest pitch of any airline. It is time that BA come up to international standards. And if you insist on flying this configuration, market it as a one class service.
