@Hybridathlete I felt fatigued and simply couldn't run the speed I had previously done as an easy pace. Knocked 30-45 seconds per mile off my pace at a given effort level.
@apbtmentality It's only Americans who have this problem. They are not used to roundabouts, and were never taught to use them. In other countries, people of all ages threat them as an aggressive sport.
@DavidDack I totally agree with this idea, but I have to point out that for almost all runners, getting really good at 10k or half marathon also requires high mileage. I've had long stretches of 80-90 mpw and never bothered to run a marathon. And I wasn't even very fast, but I'm old.
@feelthebyrn1@bowtiedcheetahh A couple of years ago I went to Ireland for 2 months. I ate and drank too much and gained 10 lbs. I was running only 50 miles/week, but lots of hilly roads. When I got home and ran on the flat, I discovered I was faster than I had ever been.
@CreateNotesOnRE Or you could buy a nice $ 2 million house and leave something for your children instead of playing at being the big shot that you ain't.
@Quaesitor121 Murder tends to be very selective. Even when the rate is high overall, the people getting killed are already living in a different world than most of us.
