Training on first aid to students in Sembel sub-zone

The National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch in the Central Region has provided six-month training on first aid to 127 students, including 113 female students, in Sembel sub-zone.

Ms. Aster Tsehaye, head of the union branch in the sub-zone, commended those who contributed to the successful implementation of the training program.

Ms. Tsega Elias, administrator of the sub-zone, commending the effort to enhance the overall capacity of the youth, called on the trainees to apply the knowledge they gained from the training in the service of their community.

In the same vein, the cooperative association of the first round of the National Service provided certificates of appreciation to teachers who took part in the summer education program organized by the association, as well as textbooks to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The First Printing Press in #Eritrea
The first modern printing press in Eritrea — and the first in all of East Africa — began operating in 1879 at Emkulu (እምኩሉ), a small town located about 5 km northwest of Massawa on the Red Sea coast.

It was established by the Swedish Evangelical Mission (SEM).In 1895, the press was relocated to Asmara, which had become the colonial capital under Italian rule.

This press played a vital role in Eritrea’s history. It produced Bibles, hymnals, school textbooks, and other Christian literature in local languages. It significantly advanced education, Bible translation, and the development of the Evangelical Church of Eritrea.

ሓይልን ጽልዋን ሃገራት ኣብ ኣህጉራዊ መድረኽ ብዝተፈላለዩ ረቛሒታት ዝውሰን እዩ። መብዛሕትኡ ግዜ፣ ወተሃደራዊ ዓቕሚ፡ተክኖሎጂያዊ ዕብየትን ቁጠባዊ ፍርያትን ከም ቀንዲ መለክዒታት ክብርታትን ጽልዋን ተገይሮም ይውሰዱ። እዚኣቶም ተለዋወጥትን ብጊዜን ኩነታትን ክመጽኡን ክኸዱን ዝኽእሉ ባእታታት እኳ እንተዀኑ፣ ካብዚ ኩሉ ንላዕሊ ግን ሓደ ቀዋምን መሰረታውን ዝዀነ ጸጋ ኣሎ - ንሱ ድማ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ እዩ። ሓንቲ ሃገር ኣብ ካርታ ዓለም ዘለዋ ቦታ፡ ንኹሉ ወተሃደራውን ቁጠባውን ጥበባታ መበገሲ ባይታ ብምሃብ፣ ኣብ ዲፕሎማስያዊ ዝምድናታት ከም ፍሉይ ዓለምለኻዊ ሓይሊ ወይ ናይ ጸቕጢ መሳርሒ (Leverage) የገልግል። እዚ “ጂኦ- ስትራቴጂካዊ ሓይሊ” ዝብል ጽንሰ- ሓሳብ፡ ተፈጥሮ ንሓንቲ ሃገር ዝለገሰቶ ዘይነጽፍ ጸጋ ኮይኑ፣ ኣብ መንጎ እቶም ኣብ ካርታ ዝሰፈሩ ስነ- ምድራዊ ዶባትን እቲ ኣብ ባይታ ዝረአ ህያው ምንቅስቓስ ሓይልታትን ዘሎ ዘይነጻጸል ጥብቂ ምትእስሳር ዘጉልሕ እዩ።

ስነ-ሓሳባዊ ትንተና ጂኦ-ፖለቲካ ከም ዘረድኦ፣ ጂኦግራፊ ሓንቲ ሃገር ዕድል ወይ ብድሆ ክኸውን ይኽእል እዩ። ብፍላይ ከኣ እቶም ኣብ መበል 19ን 20ን ክፍለ ዘመን ዝነበሩ ክኢላታት ጂኦ-ፖለቲካ (ከም ኣልፍረድ ታየር ማሃንን ኒኮላስ ስፓይክማንን)፣ ሓይሊ ባሕርን ቁጽጽር ጸበብቲ መተሓላለፊታትን ንዓለምለኻዊ ጽልዋ ወሰንቲ ምዃኖም ይከራኸሩ ነበሩ። ንሳቶም ከም ዝገልጽዎ፣ ዓለምለኻዊ ንግዲ ብባሕሪ ዝምራሕ ብምዃኑ፡ ነቶም ዓበይቲ መተሓላለፊታት ባሕሪ (Choke points) ዝተቖጻጸረት ሃገር ውሕስነት ቁጠባ ዓለም ክትውስን ትኽእል እያ። ባሕሪ ከም ሓባራዊ ጽርግያ እንተወሲድናዮ፣ ነቶም ኣፍደገታቱ ዝሕልዉ ሓይልታት ድማ ፍሉይ ፖለቲካዊ ሓይልን ዓብላሊ ጽልዋን ይህልዎም። ስለዚ፡ ጂኦ-ስትራቴጂ ሓንቲ ሃገር ነቲ ዘለዋ ቦታ ብምጥቃም ሃገራዊ ድሕነታ እተረጋግጸሉን ረብሓታታ እተስፍሓሉን ጥበብ እዩ።

ታሪኽ ዓለምና ከም ዘረጋግጾ፡ ዓበይቲ ሓይልታት ዓለም ንጂኦግራፊያዊ መሰጋገሪታት ንምቁጽጻር ዘይሕለል ቃልሲ ከካይዱ ጸኒሖም እዮም። ንኣብነት፡ ቱርኪ ኣብ መንጎ ኤውሮጳን ኤስያን ዘለዋ ኣቀማምጣ፡ ብፍላይ ከኣ መትረብ ቦስፎረስን ዳርዳኔልስን ክትቈጻጸር ምኽኣላ፡ ንድሕነት ጸሊም ባሕርን ስሉጥ ምንቅስቓስ ኔቶን ወሳኒት ሃገር ገይሩዋ ይርከብ። ብተመሳሳሊ፡ ግብጺ ብመትረብ ሱዌዝ ኣቢላ ንዓለምለኻዊ ንግዲ ባሕሪ እተመሓላልፎ መስመር፡ ማእከላይ ምብራቕን ኤውሮጳን ዘራኽብ ሓያል ጂኦ-ፖለቲካዊ መሳርሒ እዩ። ብተመሳሳሊ ሸነኽ ድማ፡ ሲንጋፖር ኣብ ጸቢብ መተሓላለፊ ማላካ ብምቕማጣ፡ ንንግዲ ምብራቕ ኤስያን ዓለምን ወሳኒት ማእከል ክትከውን ክኢላ እያ። ፓናማ እውን ብመትረብ ፓናማ ኣቢላ ንፓስፊክን ኣትላንቲክን ውቅያኖሳት ምውሳባ፡ ንቁጠባዊ ዓቕማ ጥራይ ዘይኰነስ፡ ንኣገዳስነታ ኣብ ዓለምለኻዊ መድረኽ ዓቢ ክብሪ ሂብዎ ይርከብ። እዚ ኹሉ ዘርእየና፡ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ሓንቲ ሃገር ካብ ወተሃደራዊ ዕጥቅታት ንላዕሊ ዕጽፊ ጽልዋ ክፈጥር ከም ዝኽእል እዩ።

ናብ ዞባና ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ክንምለስ ከለና፣ ኤርትራ ሓንቲ ካብተን ብጂኦ- ስትራተጂካዊ ኣቀማምጣአን ፍሉይ ቆላሕታ ዝወሃበን ሃገራት እያ። ኤርትራ ኣብ ገማግም ቀይሕ ባሕሪ እትርከብ ሃገር ኮይና፣ ብሰሜንን ደቡብን ዝዝርጋሕ ልዕሊ 1,200 ኪሎ ሜተር ንውሓት ዘለዎ ገማግም ባሕሪ ኣለዋ። እዚ ጥራይ ዘይኰነ፣ ደሴታት ዳህላክ ዝሓወሰ ልዕሊ 350 ደሴታት እትውንን ሃገር ምዃና’ውን ካልእ ኣገዳሲ ብልጫ እዩ። እዚ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ክዉንነት እዚ፣ ንዓለምለኻዊ መስመር ንግዲ ባሕሪ ብፍላይ ከኣ ንመትረብ ባብ-ኤል-መንደብ ኣዝያ ቀረባ ይገብራ። እቲ ሰፊሕ ገማግም ባሕርን ደሴታትን ንኤርትራ ርኡይ ጂኦ- ስትራቴጂካዊ ዕምቈት (Strategic Depth) ይዕድላ። እቶም ደሴታት ከም ወተሃደራዊ ይኹን ቁጠባዊ ዋሕስ ኮይኖም ከገልግሉ ዝኽእሉ ተፈጥሮኣዊ ዕርድታት እዮም። እዚ ኣቀማምጣ እዚ ንድሕነት መላእ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃን ማእከላይ ምብራቕን ብቀጥታ ዝጸሉ ባህሪ ኣለዎ።

ባብ-ኤል-መንደብ ንቀይሕ ባሕሪ ምስ ወሽመጥ ዓደንን ህንዳዊ ውቅያኖስን ዘራኽብ ጸቢብ መተሓላለፊ ባሕሪ እዩ። እዚ ቦታ እዚ ካብ መላእ ዞባታት ዓለም ንዝመጽኡ መራኽብ ንግዲ ከም ኣፍደገ ኮይኑ የገልግል። ኤርትራ ኣብዚ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ዘለዋ ንውሓት ገማግም ባሕርን ቁጠባዊ ዞባ ባሕርን (EEZ)፣ ኣብ ምርግጋእ ይኹን ዘይምርግጋእ እቲ ዞባ ወሳኒ ተራ ክትጻወት ዕድል ይህባ። ኣብዚ እዋን እዚ፡ ኣስታት 10% ክሳብ 12% ዝኸውን ዓለምለኻዊ ንግዲ፡ ከምኡ’ውን ዓቢ መጠን ካብ ዓለማዊ ነዳዲ በዚ ጸቢብ መተሓላለፊ እዚ እዩ ዝጐዓዝ። ኣብ ቀረባ ግዜ ኣብ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ዘጋጠሙ ቁጠባዊ ምዝባላትን ናይ መራኽብ መጥቃዕትታትን ከም ዘርኣይዎ፣ ኣብዚ ዞባ እዚ ዝፍጠር ዝዀነ ይኹን ዘይምርግጋእ ንመላእ ዓለማዊ ቊጠባ ብኸመይ ከም ዝጸልዎ እዩ። ስለዚ፡ ኤርትራ ኣብዚ ቦታ እዚ ዘለዋ ቁጽጽርን ጽልዋን፡ ንዓለምለኻዊ ርግኣት ናይዚ መስመር እዚ ወሳኒት ረቛሒ ይገብራ።

እዚ ጂኦ-ስትራቴጂካዊ ክዉንነት እዚ፡ንኤርትራ ንሓያሎ ዞባውያንን ዓለምለኻውያንን ሓይልታት ማእከል ስሕበት ፖለቲካ ክትከውን ገይሩዋ እዩ። ዓበይቲ ሓይልታት ዓለም (ከም ሕቡራት መንግስታት ኣመሪካ፡ ቻይና፡ ሩስያን ሃገራት ኤውሮጳን) ከምኡ’ውን ዞባውያን ሓይልታት (ከም ሃገራት ወሽመጥ ዓረብ፡ ቱርኪን እስራኤልን) ኩሎም ኣብ ዞባ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ጽልዋ ንምሕዳርን ድሕንነቶም ንምውሓስን ይወዳደሩ ኣለዉ። እዚ ፖለቲካዊ ምትፍናን እዚ፡ ንድሕነትን ሰላምን ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ወሳኒ ብምዃኑ፡ ኤርትራ ከም ሓንቲ ልዑላዊት ሃገር እትወስዶም ፖለቲካዊ ውሳነታትን እተካይዶም ዲፕሎማስያዊ ዝምድናታትን ኣብ ምርግጋእ እዚ ዞባ ዓቢ ጽልዋ ኣለዎ። ዓበይቲ ሓይልታት ኣብ ጂቡቲ ወተሃደራዊ መዓስከራት ክምስርቱ ከለዉ፡ ንኤርትራ እውን ከም ወሳኒት ጐረቤት ርኡይ ቆላሕታ ክህቡዋ ጸኒሖም እዮም። ቻይና ብስትራተጂ “Belt and Road Init­tiative” ኣቢላ ንወደባት ምብራቕ ኣፍሪቃ ክትምስርት ከላ፣ ሩስያ ድማ ኣብ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ መዕረፊ ሓይሊ ባሕሪ ክህልዋ ፍሉይ ድሌት ኣርእያ እያ። እዚ ኩሉ ምድፍፋእ፣ ንኤርትራ ማእከል ናይቲ ዓለምለኻዊ ናይ ሓይሊ ምትፍናን ብምግባር ዝፍተን እዩ።

ወደባት ኤርትራ፡ ብፍላይ ከኣ ባጽዕን ዓሰብን፡ ኣብ ዞባዊ ቁጠባዊ ምትእስሳርን ልምዓትን ዕዙዝ ተራ ኣለዎም። እዞም ወደባት እዚኦም ንሃገራዊ ቁጠባ ኤርትራ ንምዕባይ ጥራይ ዘይኰነስ፣ ንጐረባብቲ ሃገራት ዓቢ ኣገልግሎት ክህቡ ዝኽእሉ እዮም። እዚ ድማ ንኤርትራ ኣብ ዞባዊ ምትእስሳርን ምትሕብባርን ሓደገኛ ለቨራጂ ወይ መትሓዚ ሓይሊ ይህባ። ደቡብ ሱዳንን ካልኦት ምብራቕ ኣፍሪቃውያን ሃገራትን እውን መጻኢ ቁጠባዊ መስመራቶም ምስ ወደባት ኤርትራ ዘተኣሳስሩሉ ተኽእሎታት ኣለዉ። እቶም ወደባት ንምዕባለን ምውህሃድን ዞባ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ብቑዕ መተሓላለፊ ክዀኑ ይኽእሉ እዮም። ብሰንኪ እዚ ኣቀማምጣ እዚ፣ ፖለቲካዊ ርግኣትን ቁጠባዊ ዕብየትን ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ምስ ድሕነት ገማግም ባሕሪ ኤርትራ ብቐጥታ ዝተኣሳሰረ እዩ። እዚ ድማ ንኤርትራ ካብ ሓንቲ ዞባዊ ተዋሳኢት ንላዕሊ፣ ኣብ ልምዓትን ሰላምን ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ እጃም ክህልዋ ዓቢ ዕድል ይፈጥረላ።

ይኹን እምበር፣ ጂኦ-ስትራተጂካዊ ኣቀማምጣ ብባህሪኡ ክልተ ገጽ ዘለዎ ሰይፊ እዩ። ሓደ ሸነኹ ጽልዋን ረብሓን ከምጽእ ከሎ፣ በቲ ካልእ ሸነኹ ድማ ስሱዕ ቆላሕታ ወጻኢ ሓይልታትን ፖለቲካዊ ጸቕጥታትን ክስሕብ ይኽእል እዩ። ኤርትራ እውን ካብዚ ክዉንነት እዚ ፍልይቲ ኣይኰነትን። እቲ ኣብ ዙርያ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ዘሎ ጂኦ-ፖለቲካዊ ውድድር፣ ንኤርትራ ሓይልታታ ክትዕቅብን ብልሓታዊ ዲፕሎማሲ ክትጥቀምን ዝሓትት እዩ። ሓንቲ ሃገር ስትራተጂካዊ ቦታ ጥራይ ብምሓዛ ሓያል ክትከውን ኣይትኽእልን እያ፤ በንጻሩ ነቲ ዕድል ብብሱል ዝምድናታት ክትጥቀመሉ ክትክእል ኣለዋ። ኤርትራ ኣብ ዞባዊ ፖለቲካ ንዘለዋ ቦታ ብምጥቃም፣ ምስ ዝተፈላለያ ሃገራት ሚዛኑ ዝሓለወ ዝምድናታት ክትምስርት ምጽናሓ ይፍለጥ። እዚ ድማ ሃገራዊ ልዑላዊነታ ከየሕለፈት፣ ኣብ ዞባዊ ጉዳያት ንጡፍ ተራ ክትጻወት ኣኽኢሉዋ እዩ።

ኤርትራ ካብ ታሪኽ ቃልሳ ጀሚራ፣ ንልዑላውነት ባሕራን መሬታን ዓቢ ዋጋ ዝኸፈለት ሃገር እያ። እዚ ድማ፡ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ምስ ሃገራዊ መንነትን ድሕነትን ብኸመይ ከም ዝተኣሳሰር ዘርእይ እዩ። ገማግም ባሕሪ ኤርትራ ንምዕቃብን ሰላሙ ንምውሓስን ዝግበር ጻዕሪ፣ ንድሕነት መላእ ሃገራት ዞባ ቀይሕ ባሕሪ እውን ዓቢ ኣበርክቶ ኣለዎ። ሓይሊ ባሕሪ ኤርትራን ፖሊሲታት ጸጥታን፣ ኣብዚ ዞባ እዚ ዘይሕለል ግደ ኣለዎም። እዚ ድማ ኤርትራ ኣብ ልዕሊ ሃገራዊ ዶባታ ጥራይ ከይተሓጽረት፡ ኣብ ዞባዊ ርግኣት እውን ዓቢ ተራ ከም ዘለዋ ዘረጋግጽ እዩ። እተን በቲ ንኤርትራ ዝጉዝጎዝ ባሕሪ ተጠቒመን ዝጐዓዛ ንግዳዊ መራኽብ ብሰላም ክሓልፋ ምኽኣለን፣ ንውሕስነት ዓለማዊ ቁጠባ ወሳኒ ረቛሒ እዩ።

ኣብዚ ብተክኖሎጂን ቅልጡፍ ምንቅስቓስን ዝምራሕ ዘመናዊ ዓለም፣ ጂኦግራፊያዊ ሓይሊ ወሳኒ ረቛሒ ምዃኑ ኣየቋረጸን። ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራ ንመጻኢ ወለዶታት ዝተርፍ ቀዋሚ ሃብቲ እዩ። እዚ ፍሉይ ኣቀማምጣ እዚ፣ ኣብ መንጎ መስመራት ካርታን ኣብ ግብሪ ዝትርጐም ጽልዋን ዘሎ ዓቢ ምስጢር እዩ። ኤርትራ ነቲ ተፈጥሮ ዝዓደላ ጂኦ-ስትራቴጂካዊ ብልጫ ብብቑዕ መሪሕነትን ዲፕሎማስያዊ ብልሃትን ክትጥቀመሉ ከላ፣ ሃገራዊ ልዑላዊነታ ብምሕላው፣ ኣብ ዞባዊ ርግኣትን ልምዓትን ዘለዋ ተራ ክዓቢ እዩ።

ብሓፈሻኡ ክርአ ከሎ፣ ካብ ካርታ ናብ ጽልዋ ዝግበር ጉዕዞ ፖለቲካዊ ብስለትን ስትራተጂካዊ ዓቕምን ዝሓትት እዩ። ኤርትራ ኣብ ልብን መተሓላለፍን ቀይሕ ባሕሪ ብምቕማጣ፣ ኣብ ዞባ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃን ማእከላይ ምብራቕን ዘይትካእ ስትራተጂካዊ ረብሓ ሒዛ ትርከብ። እዚ ጂኦ-ፖለቲካዊ ረብሓ እዚ፡ ንኤርትራ ኣብ ኣህጉራዊ ፖለቲካ ማእከል ስሕበት ብምግባር፡ ርግኣታን ልምዓታን ንምውሓስ ፈጺሙ ዓቢ ዓቕሚ እዩ። ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራ ንመጻኢ ወለዶታት ዝተርፍ ቀዋሚ ሃብቲ ብምዃኑ’ምበኣር፡ ከም ወትሩ ብብልሃትን ብሓላፍነትን ክንሕዞ፡ ክንከላኸለሉን ክንጥቀመሉን ይግባእ። ጂኦግራፊያዊ ኣቀማምጣ ኤርትራ፡ እቲ ነባሪ ሃገራዊ ሓይልና ስለዝዀነ!

He was summoned on stage to take the polka dot KOM jersey, the first African in history to wear it. It was a seminal moment for many reasons. ❤️🌍

The Bastions of Nakfa: Names Etched in Heroism and Sacrifice;

"During the critical period of the Strategic Withdrawal in late 1978, the Eritrean freedom fighters faced a massive enemy force heavily armed with modern Soviet weaponry and backed by foreign military advisors. From every direction, the onslaught intensified; the skies thundered with the relentless roar of fighter jets, while the ground shook under the steady advance of conventional armor....

...While several newly liberated towns fell back into enemy hands under the sheer weight of this asymmetrical firepower, Nakfa stood defiant - the lone urban sanctuary that refused to surrender to the darkness of occupation. Convinced of the absolute justice of their cause, the freedom fighters withdrew into the rugged, familiar mountain ranges surrounding Nakfa in late December 1978. There, they made a solemn, historic pledge: to defend this rocky citadel with their blood and their lives. For more than a decade, these forbidding heights became the stage for epic engagements that transformed Nakfa into the ultimate symbol of Eritrean resilience, determination, and sovereign pride".
