@NoeckerRyan Unfortunately we've also seen the NBA on the opposite side of this with examples like Jr. Smith being forced to cover his "Supreme" tattoo and Lonzo Ball being forced to cover his "BBB" as well #srm3227
@AaronGross91 This is true for sure, this will however impact the speed that this growth occurs at and displays a limitation in the short term for eSports. #srm3227
@theDorais For sure, we've already seen the NFL using a half screen advertisement where they don't completly leave the game as an example to them trying to keep attention on the screen rather than on our phones during the ads #srm3227
Another huge game changer in the future of sports marketing is streaming, we have seen amazon and twitch begin to purchase these thursday night games in order to stream football already #srm3227
@dr_marshmallow We are seeing people in the eSports world reaching thousands of people a day for hours at a time and that creates a lot of opportunity for marketers to take advantage. #srm3227
@dr_marshmallow One way it will effect the marketing world is creating a new medium of advertisement. We see now that streamers of games are getting major money from companies such as Ninja does with Redbull. #srm3227
@Rylee67252462 For sure, we also know that unlike other traditional sports leagues there's a lot for people to learn about in terms of the rules of the leagues, rooting interests and other variables that must be found out for eSports to reach its potential growth #SRM3227
With the decline of cable this leaves a ton of potential money on the table for other sites to bid on streaming for sports leagues. We just saw the NBA get tons of money for broadcasting rights but once that contract runs out who knows whats next #srm3227
With new apps such as Fanduel and Draftkings and the rise of fantasy sports as a whole, live betting seems to be whats up next in the sports world as well. #srm3227
@shawngill27 One of the most interesting things about Esports is just how large these mega events get in terms of viewership, they compare favorably to some of the biggest events in traditional sports. #srm3227
@dr_marshmallow The UFC comes to mind, too many times they have allowed guys who have recently fought fight again after a short period of time. We saw this with Michael Bisping who fought just 3 weeks after losing. He lost the next fight by first round knockout and this shows concern #srm3227
@theDorais@AaronGross91 Yeah, agreed it's a real balancing act, the NFL and football itself will always be violent, but in order to continue to be successful they must keep safety in mind to continue being the most successful league in America #srm3227
@theDorais@AaronGross91 The NFL has to ask themselves which is more important, traditional fans thinking the game is "ruined" or adapting and trying to market to the youth and their parents in order to gain revenue that way. With the new information about head injuries NFL has a lot of risk. #srm3227
@shawngill27 The decrease in participation in youth football has to be a big worry for the NFL. Finding a way to regain trust with the parents of youth sports participants must be a main focus for the NFL to continue its success long term. #srm3227
@shawngill27 @Tug02752 That's a good point, we see a lot of blanket statements from companies claiming safety but their is a lot of question on the validity of these tests they are supposedly conducting. #srm3227
One way I've seen safety used a ton is when seeing companies marketing a vehicle. Outside of very upscale vehicles using performance as a main focus most of the common vehicles use their safety rating or other safety features as one of their main selling points #srm3227
We also see safety used in other ways such as return policies, "If you don't like this product you get your money back guaranteed" This is to instill a trust with consumers and regularly seen in marketing. #srm3227
