New paper out!🪱🧬Learn about the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationships of 𝐷𝑖𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑢𝑠 in Corsica and Sardinia, the 5 new pseudocryptic species described and their biogeography https://t.co/t4k2NW5IAp @SylvGrd

Five new earthworm species of the mysterious family Diporodrilidae. They produce a glue like slime, they are restricted to Corsica and Sardinia, and they may have lived under the feet of the last dinosaurs https://t.co/jCnATREtic @WormologyUCM @SylvGrd @DecaensT@MartaNovo_
📢Exciting job opportunity in our lab! We're looking for a motivated person to work on generating an environmental/biological database on earthworms of the Iberian Peninsula, organizing and digitizing our collection (1 year). Interested? 🪱🔍

@GanaultPierre @JWvanGroenigen @frantecol @AglaiaBouma@R_Lelieveld @AlixVidal3 It is definitely possible that it's a Scherotheca. Pigmentation and body shape fit. There are some quite large species around there (not far from Carcassonne if Google Maps was right).
Beautiful finding!
Six new large to giant earthworm species from one of the most well-known areas in Europe: they were just hiding under our feet!
One of them was named after the legendary Shai Hulud from Dune, and worthy of that title.

I have found Twitter useful and engaging as a divulgation tool. But it is time to say goodbye. I don't want to be a part of a media were hatred, lies and political manipulation are routine.
I hope Mastodon gets traction and becomes as popular.
Thanks for everything people!
Buenas!
