Govt causes generations of harm, particularly to indigenous and vulnerable peoples. You can handle a strong-willed reporter or two.

+ if you think one scrutinizing journalist is the only strong voice you'll hear tomorrow, you're in for a shock. Do better at accountability NZGovt

“Aaron has fought to tell the truth about my case for almost 10 years,” said Earl White. “He has given a voice to some of the most vulnerable people in our society … This decision offends me and should offend all survivors”.

The Speaker has backtracked, but this should never have happened. What are they so scared of?

for the really sassy gay comments.

@lilyffranklin13 Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) saved my life when I moved back to Auckland from the UK after my diagnosis (NHS really didn't help at the time). I don't know if there's a Dunedin equivalent, but I suddenly had hour long meetings with EPI every week and pretty constant support.

🧵 My brother is schizophrenic. He is currently in Wakari hospital in Dunedin. It has been nigh on impossible to get any kind of long term help for him, my parents have had to dedicate the last two years of their lives to begging for anyone to listen to them. We have

JK Rowling made a provocation because she knew if she was arrested she'd become a martyr, and if she wasn't then she could use that as ammunition.

Manipulative move from a bigot. End of story.

Anyways, here are some artists who defended Jonathan Glazer’s speech, since the media would rather focus on those “denouncing” it.

So excited to jump back into theatre work with creatives and a team that I love, who love theatre, and are hungry to make something exciting and fun.

It's going to be a challenge, and it's going to be awesome! YES!

[Daniel Goodwin @DanielGoodwin9]

Every script is a challenge. It should be. If you hand your work to a director or producer and they don't see the challenge, don't fall in love with the game, then take your work away from them.

Your work is worth more than complacency and routine.

Never teach a poet science because if you do they'll make a metaphor out of it and if I read one more poem about the fact atomic nuclei can't touch I'll stab myself in my own atomic nuclei.

[Daniel Goodwin @DanielGoodwin9]

We tell a lot of playwright to 'not rely on stage directions', and I get that. But can we also remember to tell actors 'not to let stage directions slow them down?'

'beat' does not mean stop.

No idea what deep seated ideas are behind this phenomenon, but the most concerning one is that none of us seemingly know what a C-section is still.

Most people: "Happy birthday!"

Gays for some reason: "Happy emergence from a vagina! YaS! Don't you ever just wanna crawl back up there? Go back in? Mmm"

OK, the Disney cruise ship using the Disney intro song as it's fog horn is a nice touch. I'll give them that.
