அனைத்து சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் பேசுவதையும் தெளிவாக கேட்டு Notes எடுக்கிறார். இதில் சௌமியா அன்புமணி பேசியது மக்கள் பிரச்சனை. எல்லாம் Notes எடுக்கிறார். அதை உலகம் பார்க்கிறது. சட்டப்பேரவை என்பது மக்கள் எண்ணங்களை பிரதிபலிக்கும் மன்றமாக இருக்க வேண்டும். அதை பலர் சரியாக செய்தனர். உச்சந்தலை முதல் உள்ளங்கால் வரை பொறாமை என்ற விஷம் கொண்டோர் இன்றைய நிகழ்வின் தலைப்புக்கு சம்பந்தமில்லாமல் நஞ்சை விதைத்தனர். இதையும் அகிலம் கண்டது.

முதல்வர் விஜய் அமைதியாக இருந்து கடைசியில் நன்றியுரை வழங்கும்போது அனைவருக்கும் பதிலளித்து மொத்த மார்க்கையும் அள்ளி விட்டார்.

India: Three Baptist pastors were ambushed and assassinated yesterday in Manipur by unknown assailants.

Rev. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou were returning home after a Baptist assembly on May 12 when the evil unfolded.

Five other religious workers were also injured.

The Christian Emergency Alliance condemns this atrocious crime – those responsible must be brought to justice.

Pray that the injured would be healed and the families of the deceased comforted by the Spirit.

May our loving Father draw goodness out of this dark act.

Pray for the Christians of Manipur.

2/3 Kerala’s Christian charities rely heavily on foreign remittances and donations. The new bill poses existential and operational challenges for them :

* Vulnerability of Physical Assets: Over decades, many dioceses and charities have built large schools, hospitals, and orphanages using foreign aid. Under the "deemed cessation" and asset seizure clauses, a delayed or denied renewal could allow the government to legally take over and sell these legacy properties overnight.

* Heightened Scrutiny Over "Conversions": The government explicitly noted the law targets those involved in "forced religious conversions" or anti-development activities. Because Christian charities often face accusations of forced conversions from right-wing groups, church leaders fear this clause will be weaponized to selectively target minority-run institutions.

* Personal Risk for Church Leadership: Because liability is expanded, priests, nuns, and community leaders sitting on charitable boards face direct legal and financial risks, potentially creating a chilling effect on leadership participation.

* Operational Paralysis: During a suspension, an organization is strictly prohibited from selling or mortgaging assets created from foreign funds without government approval. For a Kerala hospital relying on these assets, a suspension could instantly freeze day-to-day operations.

These are grave concerns.

Today I saw a vegetable vendor using stones in a plastic bag to measure 250g, 500g, and 1kg instead of proper weights. When I spoke to him, I realized how easy our lives really are.

Me: Why are you using stones to measure weight?

Vendor: The municipality people took my weights because I was standing on the road. They asked me to pay ₹300. And if they take away my cart, then ₹3000.

Me: Don’t you have a proper space to sell? Why do you stand illegally?

Vendor: They say there is no space. All the markets are already full. They are telling us to do other work or work in a municipality job.

Me: Then it is good if they give you a job in the municipality. What’s the issue?

Vendor: They say the salary will be ₹10,000-₹12,000 for cleaning work. I have a wife and a small daughter. How can we live on ₹12,000?

I was just speechless and had nothing to respond.
