Senator Jeff Merkley raised suspicions that Trump could be a Russian agent, citing his promotion of Russian propaganda, halting military aid to Ukraine, and leaking negotiation details before talks even began. In response, Trump supporters simply resort to repeating empty slogans.
Margaret Thatcher got the measure of Putin in 2000, following the Kursk submarine disaster
Poland & Thatcher, amongst others, knew that Russia's leaders never change
Whether Tsar, Secretary General or President, their callous disregard for Russian lives remains a constant - as does their insatiable desire to dominate and conquer their neighbours.
I am Russian, I was born and raised in Russia, got my first degree there, had a job there, participated in almost every big protest in Moscow since 2001, and so on, and so forth. My views changed throughout life – mainly thanks to the exposure to other languages and cultures. I lived in Israel, Sweden, Belgium. I learned French, English, Hebrew, Dutch and Ukrainian. I realised how priveleged I was; I realised how xenophobic and overcentralized the Russian society was. These problems exist in every country in the world to certain extent, the whataboutists will say, but here we come to the key points of this post:
1) As an adult citizen of a country, you are responsible for whatever your country is doing. I have three citizenships. Thus, e.g. I have three areas of responsibility: Russia, Israel and Belgium. Cool stuff.
2) If you have a smartphone, a regular income, and some savings, you have more power and resources than the majority of people on our planet. I am far from a communist world view and I do not believe you should give away everything you have or be ashamed of your wealth. However, what I believe in is that with resources you gain more responsibility.
3) My core disagreement with many Russian opinion makers in emigration lies in the field of responsibility, both in point 1) and point 2). When your country (point 1) causes a continental level catastrophe, you, as a citizen, should take responsibility and make sure this catastrophe a) ends as soon as possible, b) is never repeated, c) is recognized and seen. If you have spare resource to help that happen: your money, time, or media resource, your responsibility is to use this resource to achieve the abovementioned. Priority must be given to that.
It is not a matter of nationality, it is a matter of taking care of our planet within our areas of responsibility. It is simply adult behaviour.
Today, first time in Polish TV, after 8 years of right-wing government, the LGBT+ activists appeared in live broadcast. I was seating there and heard journalist shaking voice. He made an apology after years of portraying LGBT-people a threat to Polish nation in the same studio. I was moved.. Apology an important part of reconciliation. This is Poland I want to fight for... Thank you...
Since the media refuses to report on it, let me share what happens at a typical Trump speech:
1. He comes out to the playing of the “January 6 Anthem” song which he recorded with some of the most dangerous J6 rioters in jail.
2. He brags how his song with the J6 rioters gets more downloads than Taylor Swift (it does not)
3. He spends a few minutes talking about passing cognitive exams, and how the audience would not pass the exam, but because he is really smart (he is not) he is able to ace the exam.
4. He praises Viktor Orban, the leader of Hungary, who Trump says is the most respected leader in Europe (he is not).
5. He praises President Xi and says he is very strong and rules over 1 billion people with an iron fist and Hollywood couldn’t find an actor as tough as President Xi.
6. He praises Putin and says people say it’s a bad thing he gets along with Putin but he thinks it’s a good thing.
7. He makes weird noises reenacting lifting weights with a trans woman and he says “mommy I can’t do it. Mommy. Ughhh, uhh, mommy help me.”
8. He says he doesn’t like seeing President Biden at the beach and says he has a better body than Biden (he does not)
9. He talks about his hatred of windmills and his hatred of electric cars. He says he would rather be electrocuted than eaten by sharks however.
10. He praises the J6 insurrectionists and calls them hostages.
11. He whines about his court cases, attacks prosecutors, judges, and witnesses, and then praises “the great Alphonse Capone” and brags he was indicted more than Capone.
12. He quotes Hitler and says immigrants are poisoning the blood of our country.
13. He says he wants to be a dictator on day 1.
14. He plays QAnon music, audience members often make QAnon sign with their hands, and he talks about how America is a failing nation.
15. He does a weird dance and leaves.
