“Between ground contact & the mid stance phase of each stride the #calf works isometrically to stay rigid while the #tendon elongates like a spring to return energy back at toe off”…. These #isometric calf walks help prepare the calf for its isometric role. #running#strength
If you run or sprint try this single leg assisted step down to improve eccentric strength and front plane knee control.
I used this exercise in my fastest year over 400m initially as rehab and ended up using passed the point of recovery as I was getting so much from it.
All I can say is that this is the best job in sport….. it’s been so tough to take the decision to move in a different direction. But I’m as excited about my future, as I am of this fantastic team and people. https://t.co/bLgtcyz2ru
Some reflections on training that may resonate with some people. Parents, people who used to compete, and anyone who trains. Would love to hear your thoughts and approach over on Instagram. https://t.co/Xmcxed4PCz
