Mi biografía todavía no termina.
A few years ago, I attended a tennis workshop for doubles with a well-known pro.
Now, I'm not particularly fond of playing doubles, but I thought it would be a cool experience. Especially because there was a segment on mental toughness, and I don't think there are too many people who consistently perform in front huge audiences at the top of their skill level like pro athletes do.
During that session, I asked the pro about how she handled situations when her partner on court wasn't performing well.
I didn't expect her response, but I think of it almost daily, since it applies to every single project I work on, given the large number of people we manage across teams.
She said, "you can't do anything if they're having a bad day, but you can make it worse."
I've seen this play out on every single project, where making sure the team dynamic is healthy is a big part of my job.
Remembering what side of the court you're on is crucial, especially when your partners are having a bad day.
“I want ________.”
No you don’t.
If you did, you’d already be moving toward it. It sounds harsh, but it’s actually liberating.
👉 Life gets a lot better when you stop pretending and start embracing your true desires.
Back in 2017, I had an epiphany:
I didn’t care about climbing the corporate ladder as much as my peers seemed to, even though it was lucrative.
I’m a simple man—I just want to climb rocks and enjoy unhurried mornings with good coffee.
I had already paid my dues… so why was I commuting to a soul-crushing office building every day, pretending to be something I’m not?
Embracing that truth led to a major reboot. It came at a high cost: I walked away from many millions of dollars. Most people wouldn’t have done it.
Maybe it’s because they really want that other life… or maybe it’s because they’re in denial…
So they keep chasing ________. The thing they say they want, but really don’t.
It’s your actions, not your words, that reveal your true desires.
Check your receipts.
Then build a life that gives you more of what you truly want—and less of what you don't.

@AlpacaAurelius They didn't ask because you looked like a "gringo". If you look like a regular latino they would ask or would guess what you do looking at your clothes and the way you speak.
@dieworkwear You should go to the office I work in. Some guys wearing, not ugly, but "really bad" business casual clothes.
I'm sure you will recommend them to better put on a quarter zip instead to save your eyes.
