A sophisticated bank heist took place in Gelsenkirchen, Germany over the Christmas holidays.

$35 million were stolen from 3000 safe deposit boxes after unknown men drilled a hole from an adjacent underground parking garage into the vault of a Sparkasse savings bank branch

Investigators believe the perpetrators, using professional-grade equipment, spent more than a day inside the vault over the weekend, exploiting the holiday closure.
