@Paul13646910@lorraine_truth Staged??? By who, I'm a local resident, we have a very small population here in Lismore and I can tell you I knew 99.9% of the people at the protest Sunday. We have no secret agenda, we have no issues welcoming refugees. Our issue is a Direct Proviosion Centre on our Main Street.
@TheLiberal_ie If you are going to report on a peaceful protest that happened in Lismore please use actual photos from that protest. Refugees ARE welcome in Lismore and not a single person has held such a sign in Lismore. The issue in Lismore is not with refugees but with the loss of the hotel.
With a new Facebook Page, new re-branding of all its signs outside the property. For it all to be pulled out from under the towns feet with a week's notice wit Zero consultation or consideration given to the locals of the town.
@rtenews@NewstalkFM@wlrfm@IrishTimes Lismore Hotel has been closed since 2016,that is correct but everyone is failing to report that up until a week ago the Hotel was to reopen to the public and bring a major lift to tourism in the town. #lismore
It's been portrayed that us locals are protesting over a disused building. For two years we have all been excited over the huge investment that was being put into our towns only Hotel and the town itself. #wlrfm#rtenews#irishtimes
With many hold ups in planning etc, seeing all the work going on lately in the hotel had once again got the locals excited that soon we would finally have our Hotel reopened. #rtenews#newstalk#wlrfm#irishtimes
@snap_happy_40 Up until a week ago us locals had been led to believe the hotel was being restored to be re opened to the public as a hotel, they had a new Facebook Page, even changed the signs oround the hotel to their new logo. That's the frustration
