The ONLY Sheffield seat that Labour has held so far is Cllr Minesh Parekh on Crookes and Crosspool.
An outspoken socialist and Starmer-critic - known for standing against bad landlords and sharp video campaigning.
Almost like Labour could learn something here 🤔🤔
MPs like this are one of the reasons Labour is on its last legs. Factional warfare and contempt for its own base above all else. Worked out great for you, hasn't it, David?
The Labour Party have totally lost our way in Scotland, England and Wales.
Look at our history. We created the NHS, the welfare state and gave people without a voice representation in Parliament!
If we don’t rediscover our radicalism then we are finished.
Be real Labour.
We’ve released the BBC Projected National share based off the council results.
Reform 26%
Green 18%
Labour 17%
Conservative 17%
Lib Dems 16%
A clear but far from overwhelming victory for Reform, with everyone else clustered in a big lump behind them.
Ultimate fragmentation.
With a turnout of just 7% this election shows that a minority far left are able to take over a major union through disengagement.
It shows a need to always be organising for moderate causes within all parts of the labour movement.
We urge members to stay in UNISON.
BREAKING: The High Court has refused to block the proscription of Palestine Action.
This marks one of the most egregious attacks on civil liberties in British history. 🧵
Irony is dead.
They actually posed for this photo this morning - before banning Palestine action in the afternoon.
The sufragettes were the very model of non-violent direct action.
A British guide to...
Terrorism:
- picking up a flag
- putting paint on a war plane
Not terrorism:
- executing 200 journalists
- murdering 30,000 kids
- bombing 37 hospitals
- allowing babies decompose in ICU beds
- starving 2million people
- shoot people queuing for flour
Sad to see so many "leftists" praising the "victory" of a "mass movement" for electoral reformist liberalism that will NEVER challenge the structure of capital!
What you should really do is join my 6 person book club where we are always right and know how to do REAL revolution
Trade unions are not an other. They are the political representation of the working class. If you want a fight with them, bring it on, but you cannot claim to stand up for British workers when you describe them in this disgraceful way.
The trade unions have already come out and said they may threaten industrial action if they don't like Lincolnshire DOGE, whose purpose is about saving money for the public whilst protecting frontline services. It is not about them, it is about the taxpayer. They want a fight. I am ready.
Maybe we should ask questions like: how come Britain’s largest left wing party came to be led by a tiny clique of repellent briefcase psychopaths who utterly despise liberals and the left, and are entirely motivated by their desire to stomp upon and drive out those people?
Immigration didn’t even rank among the top five reasons voters abandoned Labour. We are cursed with the stupidest and nastiest group of MPs in history.
Keir Starmer refuses to rule out making even more cuts to welfare in order to pay for the economic hit from Trump's trade tariffs.
Also refuses to rule out handing tax cuts to US tech companies in trade talks with the White House
'From the beginning of time, there have been two flames burning in the human heart. The flame of anger against injustice, and the flame of hope you can build a better world.'
Tony Benn was born 100 years ago today.
The German election — where the far-right AfD doubled its votes & came second — should be a warning for Labour.
Working-class communities need tangible improvements & hope — not more austerity or pandering to Reform in a race-to-the-bottom on immigration.
We need socialism.
