New ep of the Football Unravelled pod out! We discuss the influence and impact of the 'far right' in football. Was somewhat of a sombre topic for a group of Guardian reading libs @OwenMacdonald8

We stand shoulder to shoulder with our European colleagues and fully support the collective view.
We oppose FIFA’s plans. The FIFA World Cup belongs to football and always will.

@MenMan99@golden___joao@Britishteahater Nah it aint. Every real football fan is a bit delusional. The enjoyment of the sport comes from the hope, even the delusional hope. A plastic fan makes you literally just a customer of a glorified commercial ad agency. You might as well be a fan of Facebook or Apple. Boring.
@MenMan99@golden___joao@Britishteahater I dreamed of being a Brighton legend. Any kid growing up seeing them at the Goldstone, Withdean, Amex, or from Brighton in general would have. Local fans dream of playing for their club. Of course you wouldnt undersand. You 'picked' your club from hundreds of miles away. Plastic.

@castrito_9@UrsaPolaris70@GrouvilleBear@sussexbiker5360 How would you define sovereignty under the Argentinian claim? Because it sounds like its either; 1. Opressing and subjugating the local population under a political system they dont want to be under, or; 2. ethnically cleansing the island. Either way, Argentina are the bad guys.
Remember guys, the Falkanders (population established ~1830) are an "implanted population".
But, the Argentine population of Patagonia, conquered from an actual Indigenous population 50 years later, are (somehow) not.
@castrito_9@GrouvilleBear@sussexbiker5360 Isn't this guy just expressing his opinion? Why is it that when Argentinians do it they are 'just expressing an opinion' and when this guy says the exact same thing its bringing in international law. You are just being a bitter and sore loser.
So, in the end, they fell without a fight.
Not one true effort, not one shot in sight.
Just noise and fury, chest-beating and show,
Yet nowhere left for football’s craft to go.
They chased the referee more than the ball,
Mistook dark arts for greatness after all.
For every tumble, every feigned despair,
The game itself was left a little poorer there.
And when the whistle drew the curtain closed,
There was no glory in the path they chose.
For medals tarnish, scorelines fade away,
But character is measured every day.
So home they go, defeated in the end -
Without the pride that should a champion attend.
For victory borrowed through deception’s guise
Wins trophies, perhaps… but never wins the wise.
Tonight the football world breathes easier still.
Not out of malice, but because, at last,
The spirit of the game outlived the spectacle.
@chomickirio "A few years ago." You mean over 200 years ago. People live there now. You want to ethnically cleanse them? Whenever that is your agenda you are the bad guys.
@Jerseybooy@aledornell Literally the people who live there have sovereignty and a right to self determination. You just have a desire to invade and ethnicly cleanse them. Any Argentinians who want that are the bad guys here.
