We talk about ‘developing players’, as if coaches, clubs or federations produce development. We can’t. Players develop themselves by perceiving, acting, adapting & learning through experience. Our job isn’t to manufacture talent, but create environments where development emerges.
@ChelseaChadder Ruud is one of the best players to wear a Chelsea shirt, due to the era and PL he gets forgotten. End of his career ran the game from any position.
@Secretgrassroo2 Depends on the club. My son played in both for St Neots, had good experiences. But it was down to the coaches.
I think this is an issue in youth football full stop. It allows this type of set up, like pre academies and shadow squads costing £500 a season.
