@dessaw53 It's because Berdly not being a party member is diagetic as well. Noelle, Kris and Susie are the only characters to be called wonderful by Gaster because they are special by virtue of being canonical party members.
@AspirinJuice425 I think it's because the difficulty of the secret bosses is based on how hard they are to find. Gerson and Spamton are the easiest because they are the most likely to be fought on a first playthrough.
@YouNotGonnaWin@DINOSAURIAUTDR Why is Cyber City in the shelter then? Because the beginning of Board 3 has the same manhole hallway that Cyber City had in the Weird Route.
@ErisYoutuber@dullscytheraven Saying this as if Dess isn't the perfect example of this. Because she has so little concrete information about her you can basically just make up whatever and it will work.
And for Dess Knight to work we have to throw away the few confirmed instances of Dess characterization.
@gonergnostic@s3tok41b4 Regardless of who the Knight is, Dess's role wouldn't just be serving as a red herring for the actual candidate. I imagine that if she is not the Knight she is either going to play a role similar to Mari from Omori or Casey Hartley from NITW.
@dullscytheraven There are multiple different theories, but the one I find most plausible is that the Knight is a Titan adjacent creature that has access to Noelle's thoughts/memories. Essentially the Knight would be to Noelle what Eram is to Kris.
@wiredfall_@Flobertou@tsunamicat_ Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't sell secret boss items like the Black Shard, and I'm pretty sure you can't discard items as of chapter 4.
@cloudyweatheryy The reason is pretty obviously that Chapter 5 was focused on the romantic feelings that all the characters have for each other, with a large emphasis Kris's unrequited feelings.
@nonstopbrocock@admiraIish I don't really see how that indicates they were pushed together by Carol as kids. All it shows is that she noticed Noelle was really excited about going to the festival with Kris and wanted to confirm that Kris was actually going.
@nonstopbrocock@admiraIish Where are you getting the idea that their relationship was encouraged by their parents? From what we hear it was the opposite. Noelle mentions that she and Kris were apparently supposed to vote for Dess and Asriel but she encouraged Kris to vote for each other instead.
@Chidubemm0 The point is to make Kris and the player's lack of agency more apparent. Ever since chapter 1 there has been a trend in which Susie's choice is the only thing that matters often to the detriment of other characters.
@serbanstein1@GOOMYLOID It is our choice to push Kris to act on something they never would, but all that says about Noelle is that she is in love with a version of Kris that is acting purely on impulse and has no restraint.
@blaze91610 If Kris is just her friend why does she try to downplay their relationship in front of Susie when she mentions the Ferris Wheel between the two?
Also why would Noelle abandon going on the Ferris Wheel with Susie to go with Kris if there is nothing complicated between the two?
@garlupo I mostly agree, but where is the implication that Kris and Dess got along?
The only thing we know about their relationship is that she hit them with a wiffle bat and that everyone including Kris thought she was cool according to Tenna.
