This week I’ve read of one pastor who is seeing the present restrictions as an opportunity to mobilize the church into 2400 house churches; and another calling his church to civil disobedience so they can all gather to hear him preach. Two very different perspectives.
When pastors can’t see beyond Sunday and their own preaching ministry when defining “Church”, they call restrictions on gathering for the good of others “persecution of the Church”. Could this be God’s way of revealing pastoral idolatry while releasing the saints for ministry?
It must be the responsibility of the Church to equip its members for active and informed participation in public life in such a way that the Christian faith shapes that participation.
