Delighted and humbled that my next role has been announced. Really looking forward to engaging with all stakeholders in this fascinating and beautiful country.

This morning, UK forces boarded a Russian tanker in the English Channel that was secretly helping to bankroll Putin's war in Ukraine.
The first operation of its kind led by British forces, and a clear message: there is nowhere to hide.
I strongly welcome the announcement of an agreement between the US and Iran.
It is vital that toll-free freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is swiftly restored, so international shipping can get moving again to help the global economy and families here at home. The UK stands ready with France and other countries to support that process as needed.
Our longstanding position is that Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. The UK is ready to support the technical work to ensure that vital objective is implemented.
This agreement is important for regional and global security and for the international economy. Thank you to all those involved in negotiations including Pakistan and Qatar. It is vital that progress continues - we stand ready to help make it a lasting peace.
We’re stepping up efforts to support peace in the Middle East.
The UK, Australia and Canada are launching a new International Peace Fund – backing real projects that bring Israelis and Palestinians together, rebuild trust and support lasting peace.
The UK and partners are sanctioning networks enabling settler violence in the West Bank.
We are also advising British businesses against economic activity in illegal settlements.

In May, Foreign Secretary @YvetteCooperMP launched a global coalition to end violence against women and girls, wherever it exists, in the street, at home, and online.
Today, the UK takes a world‑first step to block nude images for children using mobile phones – a vital step in preventing child sexual abuse and protecting women and girls everywhere.
The UK condemns the shocking attack on civilians in the international airport in Kuwait in the strongest terms. My thoughts are with all those affected.
Our total solidarity is with the people of Kuwait and our partners in the Gulf who deserve security. It is vital the ceasefire is sustained and we urge Iran to engage fully in dialogue to achieve peace.
I condemn the deadly attack on a mosque in San Diego. My thoughts are with those affected.
I know many Muslims in the UK will be shaken by this, worried about their safety when going about their lives and attending mosque, and what it says about the times we’re living in. I understand those fears.
Violence like this does not happen in a vacuum. It grows in an environment where division and anti-Muslim hostility are normalised.
That is intolerable. We must all come together against it.
Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine continues to be met by European unity.
Working together to equip Ukraine to defend itself, the UK will enter talks to join the EU loan programme.
We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

🇺🇸 Looking back on so many special memories of a State Visit to America in celebration of the 250th anniversary of US Independence.

Le Royaume‑Uni a pris part à la journée d’échanges organisée par @OIMGuinee et l’@Aguipe_gn dans le cadre du projet #NAMAD, visant à relier les compétences des migrants de retour aux opportunités économiques en Guinée.
In New York today, The King and Queen have paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial.
During their time at the site, Their Majesties honoured the lives that were lost during the attacks, and recognised the courage of the men and women involved in the rescue efforts.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
Today His Majesty became only the second British Monarch ever to address a Joint Session of Congress, an incredible honour that is a powerful reminder of just how far our two nations have travelled together.

On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million Jews who were killed, and we acknowledge the deep grief and anguish that remembrance brings for Jewish communities today.
I know this comes at a time of profound anxiety. Conflicts overseas, pressures at home, and uncertainty about the future weigh heavily – compounded by a troubling rise in antisemitic attacks and terrorist plots targeting Jewish communities across the country.
My government will always act decisively to protect Jewish communities and to stamp out antisemitism wherever it appears. We will not hesitate, and we will not look away.
Remembrance must come with responsibility – to honour the past, to protect the present, and to ensure that ‘never again’ is not just a promise, but a duty we uphold.
Congratulations @magyarpeterMP on your historic election victory.
Hungary is a long-standing and valued partner for the UK and a @NATO ally.
I look forward to working with the new democratically elected Hungarian government to strengthen European security.
Congratulations @MagyarPeterMP on your election victory.
This is an historic moment, not only for Hungary, but for European democracy.
I look forward to working with you for the security and prosperity of both our countries.
The ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz is deeply damaging. Getting global shipping moving is vital to ease cost of living pressures.
The UK has convened more than 40 nations who share our aim to restore freedom of navigation.
This week the UK and France will co-host a summit to advance work on a coordinated, independent, multinational plan to safeguard international shipping when the conflict ends.
