‘Sigil’ This is the first piece of work I have finished in months. Part of me has been reluctant to show any work with all that’s going on currently in the world as it can feel quite inappropriate. I have decided to enter this piece for this years RWA open. #art#drawing#ink
Boris Johnson: “Go outside, but don’t. See your family, but don’t. Go back to work, but don’t. Safe, but not. Alive, but not. Dying, but at home.” #thanksboris#secondwave#coronavirus
Very pleased to say that my piece of work ‘Twisted mirror’ has been selected to be put on display as part of the @BlackSwanArts Arts open this year. The show is open from October the 18th. #Art#Frome#abstract#drawing
Here is my newest piece entitled ‘twisted mirror’ this piece took the best part of a year to make and during this time I have struggled with a lot of anxiety. I want this piece to stand as stand as an insight as to how people with anxiety feel on the inside at times. #drawing
It’s not often I explain the meaning or influence behind my work but I feel I would give some context to this current piece I am working on entitled reflection. I suffer with anxiety and like a lot of people I know this can be completely debilitating.
When dealing with anxiety I feel that I become almost recognisable to myself and have described it as ‘a betrayal of my personality’. When completed I really want this piece to stand as a sign of solidarity for anyone who is dealing with anxiety or mental health issues.
Anxiety can stop you from experiencing new things and can have a big impact on you and those around you. I am creating this piece to explore the themes of anxiety and mental health.
