This week alone, Russia used more than 3,000 strike drones against our cities and communities – a significant portion of them “shaheds” – as well as over 1,450 guided aerial bombs and 40 missiles of various types. The Russians are not dialing back their war effort against our state and our people, and at the same time, they are openly investing in prolonging another war that is driving global destabilization.

Ukraine is being attacked with essentially the same strike drones as those used against countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Ballistic weapons are used against us just as cynically as they are against our partners. The destabilization of global markets and the blocking of maritime routes have not left a single country unaffected. We are making our contribution to guaranteeing security.

And it is important that the world does not lose time or opportunities. Clear, decisive, and coordinated efforts are needed to provide real protection for life and to stop wars. We need to build joint and modern defense systems proven in war. We must develop joint production of modern and effective weapons. We must unite our capabilities so that people can live in peace in Europe, the Middle East, and other parts of the world.

Ukraine has received its highest ratings in the 2025 Enlargement Package Report just released by the European Commission.

We welcome that the report confirms Ukraine’s consistent progress on the path toward EU membership. This is our best result in three years — and most importantly, Ukraine has never received a negative “backsliding” assessment.

The report also highlights Ukraine’s progress in preparing for accession talks and readiness to open negotiation clusters.

The course toward EU membership remains among the top priorities of our President, Parliament, and Government.

We are confidently moving toward full membership in the European Union — a goal that brought millions of Ukrainians to the Maidan nearly 13 years ago, and one we have since defended and enshrined in our Constitution. Ukraine is an integral part of Europe.

Today, we can already say there is a good result for our air defense – Ukraine now has more Patriots. I thank Chancellor Merz, I thank Germany, and everyone who helps – our agreements have been fulfilled. More Patriots are now in Ukraine and being put into operation.

Of course, more systems are needed to protect key infrastructure sites and our cities across the entire territory of Ukraine, and we will continue working to obtain them – not only at the political level with states and leaders but also directly with manufacturers of all necessary air defense systems and missiles for them.
