The #GRF2023#RefugeeForum started today. There are 43million forcibly displaced children in the world - almost half of the all displaced people globally. No #Refugee response can succeed unless children are at the heart of action. Let's listen to what they have to say.

@SaveChildrenNL
This is excellent news for children and families seeking protection and for the British values of democracy, solidarity and respect for rights and the rule of law.
We welcome the Supreme Court’s ruling that deporting asylum seekers to #Rwanda is unlawful.
These plans would have posed a serious risk to children.
The UK government must reconsider and ensure all children arriving in the UK are safe and protected.

"Stop this Mickey Mouse Bill Now"
We've joined forces with @domjoly to urge MPs to reconsider their vote on the #IllegalMigrationBill and show compassion to children seeking refuge.
MPs must reject this callous Bill and #StopChildDetention.
"These deaths are tragically not unexpected....The fact that people continue to die in the Mediterranean should be a wakeup call for governments like the UK."

Shocking reports of at least 78 migrants dying off the coast of #Greece.
Initial testimonies say 100 children were in the hold, with the death toll expected to rise.
This has become the deadliest migration route in the world. Safe routes save lives.

The #IllegalMigrationBill is not going to stop the dangerous crossings and will harm children. It needs to be stopped. Seeking asylum is seeking protection. It's not a crime. #protectchildren
Detaining children is not compassionate.
It's alarming that the #IllegalMigrationBill has been approved by MPs.
Seeking asylum is not a crime. MPs must urgently reconsider and put child rights first.

“The govt's position on detaining children shows a shocking disregard for the wellbeing of the children themselves." #IllegalMigrationBill

We are appalled by the Prime Minister’s comments on child detention.
Immigration detention is incredibly traumatic for children and causes psychological and developmental harm.
The UK government must put the best interests of children first.

This bill means that children seeking protection, whether unaccompanied or with families, would be detained, left in limbo and denied support for months or years.
This is unacceptable and the impact on children would be devastating.
The UK govt must urgently reconsider.

At the @Refugees#HCdialogue@save_children calls for focussing on children at the next #GRF. This means:are pledges including #Children's needs, #rights and views? Are we creating opportunities for #Children to participate? Is data looking at age disaggregation? Let's do better
At the High Commissioner for @Refugees Dialogue, @GRYN02471642 @UNICEF@save_children@MYCPofficial recommend to ensure the meaningful participation of #children and #youth, create opportunities for their involvement and collect data so that no one is left behind.
Today 100M people have been forced to flee. In 2021, 36.6M #children were displaced.
On #WorldRefugeeDay we must focus on their protection & support. We must make them feel safe, welcomed & listened to.
Together we can make it happen. It is our shared responsibility.
