En visioconférence avec nos partenaires nordiques et baltes, le Danemark, l’Estonie, la Finlande, l’Islande, la Lettonie, la Lituanie, la Norvège, la Suède, j’ai rappelé la solidarité et l’engagement constant de la France à leurs côtés.

La Russie est en situation d’échec en Ukraine. Cela montre que ses prétentions territoriales et stratégiques sont vaines. Elle s’obstine pourtant à provoquer ses voisins pour tenter de sortir de l'impasse.

Nous ferons face, ensemble.

Notre engagement se manifeste notamment par la présence militaire de la France en Estonie et en Roumanie, sa contribution à la mission de surveillance aérienne de l’OTAN dans les pays baltes, mais aussi les échanges, accords et partenariats bilatéraux de la France avec les pays de la région.

Il se manifeste aussi par notre soutien pérenne à l'Ukraine, dans tous les domaines - pour qu'elle résiste, prévale, et négocie en position de force, avec l'appui des Européens.

La France est au rendez-vous. Nos partenaires et Alliés peuvent compter sur nous.

I welcome today's results of the North Atlantic Council meeting at #NATO Headquarters in Brussels, dedicated to the security situation in the Black Sea, a topic of great importance for Romania and for NATO. Allies firmly expressed their solidarity with Romania following recent drone incidents.
Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to create major risks for Euro-Atlantic security, particularly in the #BlackSea, a region of strategic importance for the Alliance.
It is therefore important that NATO strengthen its presence and capabilities in Romania, including in the area of countering aerial and maritime drones. Romania once again emphasized the need for additional contributions from Allies and highlighted that our country has important initiatives, projects and procurements underway in this regard.
During the discussion, it was agreed to accelerate NATO projects on responding to drone threats, so that support measures for affected Allies can be approved at the Ankara Summit.
Black Sea security is also essential for protecting critical infrastructure and strategic energy projects such as Neptun Deep, which contributes to Europe’s energy resilience. This topic was part of today’s discussion.
Romania will continue to work together with Allies for a safer Black Sea and a better defended Eastern Flank.

Am discutat astăzi, în format videoconferință, cu liderii statelor europene din grupul „Prietenii Competitivității”, pentru a ne corela punctele de vedere în perspectiva Consiliului European de vară de săptămâna viitoare, de la Bruxelles.

Tranziția către o economie mai verde trebuie făcută într-un mod realist, care să protejeze atât mediul, cât și economia. Este important să reducem emisiile de carbon, dar fără a pune presiuni excesive asupra companiilor și asupra prețurilor la energie.

România are resurse importante de energie, inclusiv gaze naturale și energie nucleară, care pot contribui la securitatea energetică a țării și a Europei. De asemenea, este nevoie de investiții mai rapide în infrastructura energetică europeană, pentru ca energia să circule mai eficient între statele membre.

Ținta noastră comună este o Piață Unică bine integrată, relansarea industriilor europene și asigurarea autonomiei strategice a UE. Ne dorim o Uniune Europeană puternică și competitivă, care să creeze bunǎstare pentru cetățenii săi. O Uniune prosperǎ înseamnǎ o Românie prosperǎ.

One week after a drone crashed into an apartment building in Galați, a maritime drone today reached the port of Constanța.

This is a direct consequence of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

It is increasingly becoming a direct threat to countries on our Eastern border.

Our solidarity with every Member State exposed to these threats is absolute.

And our response must match the urgency.

Europe is investing massively in anti-drone capabilities, air defence and early warning systems.

SAFE will help build a stronger Romania.
