100% agree.
I can knit toe up but I don’t like it and the fit is never as good (I’m talking about the fit on MY feet, which is all that’s really important in MY socks).
I can also (probably) reverse engineer for top down instead but that’s effort I may not want to give.
@StolenStitches I swatch to check the fabric (do I like it and dies the pattern work with my yarn). Also to get an idea if I’ll be playing yarn chicken or not.
@cefryber @wipinsanity I have some 100% BFL socks and they wear like iron. I agree that merino is not great for socks. I want durable socks that I don’t have to mend every time I turn around. Super soft socks are not super important to me. I also like 9ish stitches per inch for gauge.
@kateatherley We got ours today. I’m lucky … my boss’ son-in-law is a pharmacist. He comes to the office with a cooler & a sharps bin and jabs all who show up. (I even get to run home & fetch the kid for theirs.)
@etcgirlthefirst @AustenGilliland If you mean me, we got lucky. Fiona changed course Friday afternoon just enough to miss us. Rain & sone wind but that’s all. Power stayed on and no damage done.
@etcgirlthefirst @knittymag This is my favourite pattern in the anniversary edition. I can hear the national anthem playing in my head. 🎶🇨🇦📺 #BonusPointsForTheEarworm
The provincial government has given itself a day off, screwed working parents with small children, and left the rest of us to find out via trial & error what is open. Thanks so much @TimHoustonNS https://t.co/vV6T3MFmY3
@AustenGilliland It’s going to end up being a circus with some stuff open and other stuff not and no way to know who is doing what until the last minute.
