Honored to support schools by coaching principals, but even more honored when I see the 4 Core Principals of #Culturize being used as the Framework to strengthen school culture. TY Danielle and Houlton Jr/Sr High.
Rigor doesn’t not mean more work.
Rigor does not mean faster.
Rigor is about the challenge. When work is rigorous, it means the intellectual acuity required to complete a task is profound. #edchat#wednesdaythought
Great Visual. Imagine being student A, showing tremendous growth and mastering the topic in the final attempts, and still receiving a “failing” grade …
Think about the message this sends by averaging scores over time to calculate a grade.
It tells kids that where you start will nearly set in stone your future.
That message has absolutely no place in our schools, and yet this happens in most US classrooms.
It needs to stop.
What if we gave ALL kids different access points for the material in our classes based on their STRENGTHS rather than focusing on individual “deficits” #SLI2021
