President @officialABAT has pledged a stronger development partnership with Taraba State following the formal entry of @GovAgbuKefas and his supporters into the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg).

This is just as Vice President @KashimSM has said that the state is pivotal to Nigeria’s food and energy security.

Senator @KashimSM, who represented the President @officialABAT at a grand reception to formally receive @GovAgbuKefas to the APC in Jalingo on Saturday, said President @officialABAT had instructed him to assure the Governor Kefas of his place not only in the party, but in the continuing relationship to prioritise the development of the state.

“What makes us different from other political parties is that we believe that nations endure when they learn to recognise their quiet strengths. We believe that Taraba is one of such strengths. It is a land that feeds, powers, and steadies the nation without demanding applause,” the Vice President @KashimSM said.

The Federal Government of Nigeria, on Monday, flagged off a free nationwide training of 10 million Nigerians on financial inclusion and literacy.

This is just as the Vice President, Senator @KashimSM, has said Nigeria can reap bountifully from its demographic dividend only if young Nigerians and women are equipped with the needed skills and ethical grounding required for a speedily progressing digital economy.

The training being undertaken by the Office of the Vice President through the Presidential Committee on Economic & Financial Inclusion (@precefi), chaired by Vice President @KashimSM, is designed to equip Nigerians, particularly women and youths, with essential financial skills, investment knowledge, and digital competencies for sustainable wealth creation.

Accordingly, the Office of the Vice President, through the PreCEFI, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with six professional bodies to jointly design training programmes, certification pathways, digital skills initiatives, and mentorship platforms that would strengthen Nigeria’s financial and enterprise workforce.

The professional bodies include the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (@ICAN_NGR); Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (@cibnigeria); Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (@cisnigeria); National Institute of Credit Administration (@nica_nigeria1); Chartered Risk Management Institute (@crmi_ng) and Nigeria Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NIIE).

I had the honor of flagging off the Kaduna State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (KADSEMSAS) at the Dora Miller Secretariat Complex, Ministry of Health, Kaduna. This milestone is not just the launch of a programme but a bold declaration of our commitment to safeguarding every life in Kaduna State.

KADSEMSAS provides rapid and coordinated responses in medical crises, childbirth complications, accidents, and emergencies. It consists of fully equipped ambulances across the state, a 24/7 emergency call and dispatch centre, and a dedicated team of skilled health professionals. Through the State Rural Emergency Ambulance and Medical Services (SREAMS), even our most remote communities now gain access to life-saving care.

This initiative reinforces our determination to make healthcare a right, not a privilege. It builds on reforms we are implementing—revitalizing primary healthcare centres, strengthening KADCHMA to expand health insurance for the poor and vulnerable, and introducing policies such as Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) and Healthcare Waste Management. We have also implemented the 2024 CONMESS and CONHESS salary structures to motivate and fairly compensate our health workers.

The flag-off of KADSEMSAS is a reaffirmation of our covenant with the people of Kaduna State: that no one will be left behind, whether a farmer in Ikara, a trader in Kachia, a student in Giwa, or a child in Kagarko. It underscores leadership rooted in empathy, evidence, and decisive action. This represents another vital step in our administration’s efforts to build a resilient and equitable healthcare system for our people.

I conducted an on-the-spot inspection of key ongoing projects across Kaduna State.

At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, I inspected the comprehensive reconstruction and remodeling works aimed at transforming it into a state-of-the-art facility that meets both FIFA and World Athletics Federation standards. This historic intervention, the first major upgrade since the stadium’s inauguration in 1965, will restore the iconic arena to global relevance, create jobs, boost revenue and advance tourism in our dear state. Contractors have assured me of completion within 10 months.

I also inspected the Keke–Danbushiya asphalt road project in Millennium City. Once completed, this strategic road will ease movement within one of Kaduna’s fastest-growing urban poor settlements, open up new economic corridors, reduce traffic congestion, stimulate commerce and improve the overall quality of life for residents in the area.

In addition, I visited the Primary Healthcare Centre in Mando, one of the 255 PHCs being upgraded from Level 1 to Level 2 across the state. The project, now at 90% completion, will provide improved infrastructure, additional medical staff, and modern equipment. This will guarantee better access to affordable, quality healthcare for the residents. I interacted with staff and patients at the facility and assured them of our commitment to their welfare.

I expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far across these projects, but I have charged the contractors to ensure timely delivery so that our citizens can begin to enjoy the benefits without delay. These interventions reflect our administration’s commitment to positioning Kaduna State at the forefront of development in health, sports, infrastructure, and other critical sectors, while improving the overall well-being of our people.

Today, I join the good people of Kaduna State, the National Assembly, and indeed the entire nation in celebrating a most distinguished son of our beloved state, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

This milestone offers us a profound opportunity to pay tribute to a man whose life is a masterclass in humility, service, and unwavering dedication to the common good. Dr. Abbas is not merely a political leader: he is a builder of bridges, a promoter of unity, and a beacon of hope to millions across Nigeria. His journey from the hallowed precincts of the Zazzau Emirate to the Speakership of the 10th House of Representatives tells a story of quiet strength, noble character, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Mr. Speaker stands tall today as one of the finest statesmen of our generation. A calm yet firm presence in Nigeria’s complex political landscape, Dr. Abbas has redefined parliamentary leadership with grace, wisdom, and inclusive vision. Since his emergence as Speaker, the House of Representatives has witnessed unprecedented stability, maturity, and productivity. Legislative business has shed its rancorous cloak and assumed the dignified tone of national duty, largely due to his masterful diplomacy and deep moral authority.

But beyond Abuja, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has remained steadfastly connected to the grassroots. He has championed people-focused legislation, equitable development, and robust oversight that puts the Nigerian people first. In Kaduna State, we have been particularly blessed by his partnership and solidarity. NIGERIA AT 65: “TOGETHER, WE ARE OVERCOMING, TOGETHER WE ARE RISING”

My dear people of Kaduna State,

Today, Nigeria marks 65 years of independence; a significant milestone in the journey of a nation that has weathered many storms, yet continues to stand tall, proud, and unbroken. This anniversary is both a celebration and a call to reflection: a celebration of our collective resilience, and a moment to honour the sacrifices and vision of our founding fathers, who won for us the freedom we now enjoy.

Their legacy was not forged in ease, but in unity, faith, and an unwavering belief in the greatness of Nigeria. It is a legacy that inspires us to continue building a nation where peace, justice, and opportunity prevail. We must not merely commemorate independence: we must make it meaningful for every Nigerian.

Our path as a nation has been defined by resilience. Through challenges; political, economic, and social. Nigerians have demonstrated an extraordinary capacity to endure and hope. The strength of our people, especially here in Kaduna State, continues to be the bedrock of our shared progress.

This is why, on this historic day, I extend a sincere call to all of us: let us work together, across our communities, faiths, and backgrounds; to confront our challenges and unlock our collective potential. It is in unity that we will continue to give life to the dream of a peaceful, just, and prosperous Nigeria.

Here in Kaduna State, we are translating vision into action. Our administration is pursuing inclusive development and renewal through strategic and people-centred investmentsespecially in the following areas:

• Infrastructure and Economic Connectivity: We have prioritised infrastructure as the engine of development. To date, we have launched 85 urban and rural road projects, covering 785 kilometres across the state. Nearly half of these are completed, facilitating trade, reducing travel time, and improving access to markets for farmers and entrepreneurs alike. We are rebuilding urban roads, bridges, and essential public utilities to stimulate investment and elevate living conditions.

• Rural Transformation and Agricultural Revival: Our Rural Revitalisation Agenda is reawakening the economic potential of previously marginalised communities. With the reopening of key markets such as the Birnin Gwari Livestock Market and the Kidandan Market in Giwa, we are seeing a resurgence of local commerce and a renewed sense of community confidence. More than 500,000 hectares of abandoned farmland have been reclaimed, equipping our farmers to produce more while enhancing food security across the state.

• Human Capital Development: Education and health are not luxuries — they are the pillars of our future. We are executing a comprehensive reform of our educational system to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality learning. This includes infrastructure upgrades, teacher training, and the integration of digital tools. Through the Reaching Out-of-School Children Project, we have successfully returned over 10,728 children to the classroom. Moreover, we have reopened 535 schools previously shut due to insecurity, reaffirming our belief that education is a right, not a privilege.

In healthcare, we have turned promises into action. We have upgraded 255 Primary Health Care Centres across the state, bringing vital services closer to rural communities. These efforts are supported by our investments in three world-class vocational institutes, which are empowering our youth and women with marketable skills to thrive in an evolving economy.

• Agriculture and Food Security: Recognising the strategic importance of agriculture, we have allocated over 10% of the 2025 budget to the sector — the highest in recent years. This demonstrates our commitment to empowering smallholder farmers, promoting climate-smart practices, and strengthening the agricultural value chain to ensure long-term food security and economic growth.

• Peacebuilding and Social Inclusion: We understand that meaningful development is impossible without peace. This is why we have deepened our investment in community security, reconciliation, and dialogue. We are expanding community policing initiatives, strengthening collaboration with security agencies, and supporting victims of conflict. Through these efforts, we are rebuilding trust across diverse communities and reaffirming our collective commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Justice, equity, and inclusion are the cornerstones of our governance approach. We are building a Kaduna State where policy is driven by fairness, leadership is guided by empathy, and every community, no matter how remote, has a voice in shaping our shared future.

These achievements reflect our determination to build a Kaduna that is safe, strong, and inclusive. Yet, the path ahead requires even greater cooperation between government and the people. Development is a shared responsibility. I urge every citizen to contribute, through acts of peace, through civic participation, and through unwavering belief in the promise of our state and nation.

Nigeria’s future remains bright, and Kaduna’s role in that future is significant. Under His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the nation is undergoing bold reforms to secure peace, restore prosperity, and strengthen democratic governance. Kaduna stands fully in support of this vision.

Nigeria’s presence at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) was not only profound; it was transformative. The world’s diplomatic epicentre, convened once again in New York, bore witness to a reawakening of Nigeria’s global vision, articulated with statesmanship and moral clarity by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and eloquently delivered by his distinguished Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima. It was a masterclass in international statesmanship. With measured cadence and rhetorical finesse, Vice President Shettima delivered the President’s national statement with a compelling gravitas that demanded attention and respect. His poise, intellectual clarity, and emotional cadence elevated Nigeria’s address beyond the realm of diplomacy; it became a rallying cry for reform, justice, and shared prosperity in a fractured world order.

In that moment, Nigeria stood not just as Africa’s most populous democracy, but as a moral voice calling for overdue transformation in the architecture of global governance. President Tinubu, through the Vice President’s peerless delivery, urged the United Nations to reform itself, to move beyond the historical residue of a post-World War II geopolitical structure and embrace a new, multipolar reality where Africa is not a footnote, but a formidable force. Nigeria, he argued persuasively, is no longer a colonial subject but a sovereign nation of 236 million people, projected to become the third most populous country in the world, a stabilising force in its region, and a consistent peacekeeper in the global community. The President’s demand for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council was not a mere diplomatic request, it was a moral imperative grounded in demographic logic, historical contribution, and the aspirations of a continent too long marginalized.

Yet, beyond the lofty halls of the General Assembly, it was within the dynamic ecosystem of side events and bilateral dialogues that the resonance of Nigeria’s renewed hope found an unexpected but no less powerful echo, through the deliberate and impactful presence of Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State. His participation was not ceremonial. It was strategic. It marked an inflection point in the evolving narrative of Nigeria’s engagement with the world: a moment when sub-national actors, hitherto peripheral in the theatre of international diplomacy, stepped forward as articulate proponents of the country’s reformist agenda.

Senator Uba Sani’s presence in New York symbolised more than Kaduna’s aspirations; it reflected the ideological and developmental synchrony between the Renewed Hope Blueprint of President Tinubu and the pragmatic, results-oriented leadership being institutionalised in sub-national Nigeria.  At a high-level side event, under the theme “Global Partnerships, Local Prosperity: Unlocking Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Blueprint for Sustainable Growth,” Governor Uba Sani emerged as a persuasive and polished advocate of both federal reform and state-level innovation. He articulated, with intellectual rigour and diplomatic finesse, the manner in which national policies, such as subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, and tax reforms, are not only stabilising macroeconomic fundamentals but are creating fertile ground for inclusive, bottom-up development in states like Kaduna.

With precision and nuance, he detailed Kaduna’s efforts to harmonise its development agenda with federal reforms. The State’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) is revitalising agricultural value chains, generating employment, and lifting rural communities out of poverty. Under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership, Kaduna has become a frontline implementer of the federal Students Loan Scheme, ensuring that access to education is not the preserve of the privileged but a lifeline extended to children from low-income households.

Kaduna State has marked a pivotal moment in its development journey with the signing of the Kaduna Mutual Accountability Framework (KaMAF), a transformative partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The agreement was formalised in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly. I had the honour of signing on behalf of the Kaduna State Government, while Mr. Uche Amaonwu, the Gates Foundation’s Country Director for Nigeria, signed on behalf of the Foundation.

This moment is especially significant, as it marks the first time in nearly a decade of the Foundation’s engagement in Kaduna that such a comprehensive and institutional framework for collaboration and accountability has been established. It represents a deliberate shift: from intentions to outcomes, from promises to delivery. At its heart is a shared commitment to grounding governance in transparency, mutual responsibility, and a resolute focus on the needs and aspirations of our people. It also builds on the foundations laid by the Kaduna State International Development Cooperation Framework.

The framework sets forth a coherent agenda aimed at delivering measurable, lasting impact across critical sectors. It will strengthen healthcare systems, with particular emphasis on primary healthcare, maternal and child health, and disease prevention and response. It supports the transformation of agriculture through sustainable practices, increased productivity, and improved access to technology and markets. It reinforces the importance of reliable data systems to inform decisions, shape policies, and track progress. It champions fiscal responsibility through more transparent and accountable budgeting processes. And it promotes inclusive economic empowerment by enhancing household resilience, expanding digital and financial inclusion, and prioritising initiatives that uplift women.

This partnership with the Gates Foundation is a testament to what is possible when governance is guided by accountability and shaped by strategic collaboration. Together, we are laying the foundation for a Kaduna State that is more inclusive, more resilient, and firmly on the path to shared prosperity, where progress is not an abstract ideal, but a lived reality for every community.
