Just watched "The Thinking Game, the new documentary on Demis Hassabis and DeepMind's journey toward AGI.

From child chess prodigy to building AlphaFold (which basically earned a Nobel for solving protein folding), the man has been laser-focused on solving intelligence for decades.

A refreshing reminder that the biggest breakthroughs come from deep, long-term thinking, not just throwing more compute at the latest hype cycle.

Interesting move. Congested electrical grid points, maximizing energy for processing power points in the short term for higher gas use.

This fits nicely with Tecogen’s focus to provide their natural gas running chillers for data centers. Leveraging Vertiv’s data center experience with Tecogen’s manufacturing and service capabilities was all about this.

Importantly, the data center rollout can only be matched with increased gas consumption as there are limited alternatives in the short-medium term.
