@AcademicChatter Work out your non negotiable needs for your wellbeing. Write them down on multiple pieces of paper and put them on your desks, phone and in your bathroom.
Check in with yourself realistically monthly. Remind yourself that its ok not to be perfect, even if you don't believe it.
I am absolutely loving @LoriGottlieb1 book! What a phenomenal story about the sharpness and softness of life, a reminder that we don't know everyone's story, with many "oooohhh", awesome psych theories ( so many rabbit holes of learning to come), and many many tears. 5/5 ๐
Very please to share that this has been published open access in MSK Care. This is an exploratory analysis of our powerlifting paper looking at a Nobel fear hierarchy - https://t.co/CCpAMDZxFb @PWMMarshall@Mattjones0203@UNSWMedicine
@RebelTeacherNet Yes! There is so much evidence that a teacher is integral to helping build student's growth mindset and help with their intrinsic motivation. It seems bizarre that the converse is a conversation!
@JanSlapeta@Sydney_Uni I see this too! Didactic lectures can be useful for sharing knowledge, but active teaching is what draws the students in and helps them connect the info! More emphasis should be on workshops, practicals, and students' social connection/well-being activities!
I am honoured to win a Professor Susan Holland Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award with @TorrensUni!
So grateful for the acknowledgement, as I am so so passionate about my teaching and supporting students in reaching their full potential!
My team at Torrens University are now recruiting a full-time Learning Facilitator/Lecturer position to start early December! Please reach out if you would like to chat about this awesome opportunity!

๐จโโ๏ธ ๐ฉโโ๏ธHappy International Nurses Day! This year's theme is 'A Vision for Future Healthcare'.
We asked our students and academics what being a nurse means to them. Watch the video here: https://t.co/grDsOohM2F #VoicetoLead#IND2021

Academic peeps: I've lived through many disasters. Here is my advice on "productivity". First, play the long game. Your peers who are trying to work as normal right now are going to burn out fast. They're doomed. Make a plan with a longer vision. /1
Movie: Scientist cures cancer while simultaneously building a particle accelerator within an hour.
Reality: Scientist spends an hour trying to figure out what was written on the label of a tube thatโs been in the freezer since 2016.
