@Toff147@StokeyyG2 They made spying on a teams training an offence.
What wasn’t in place officially was the punishment for that offence, which is excessive to say the least imo.
And reinstating a side that has lost over not one but 2 games is very fortunate.
@hughmurray1894 Always fascinating an opinion like this from a fan of a club that have only been relevant for half of the Premier Leagues existence let alone non existent before that also.
@henrywinter Cheating is also breaching FFP to benefit what you can pay your playing squad or the potential to match transfer fees outside of what you should do.
Yet clubs get soft financial penalties, that don’t reflect the extreme punishment Southampton have faced.
@liamturner1998@HullCity Yeah I’ve got no affiliation in it either. But I think you either let hull up, or delay the playoff final and have Middlesbrough play Wrexham, due to SFC expulsion,to then meet Hull. Giving all clubs equal time to prepare to play each other once the result of that games settled.
@liamturner1998@HullCity Is it? Why do Middlesbrough deserve a 2nd shot?
How is Hull having spent all week preparing for Southampton only to be changed with days to go fair, when Southampton & Middlesbrough have been preparing solely for Hull?
What happened wouldnt of swayed a 2 leg tie that much
Southampton are right as well.
When you see clubs abusing the FFP rules which imo is gaining clubs a far bigger advantage and all they get are fines.
Explosion from the competition seems excessive.
BREAKING: Southampton release statement saying they've appealed yesterday's decision by the Independent Disciplinary Commission to expel the club from the Sky Bet Championship play-off final 🚨

The referee’s call of no penalty to Tottenham Hotspur was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that the action from Cucurella had ended before the ball was in play.
