@lucagrecoita@lucagrecoita Like in most vehicles, the door opening area is probably made from press-hardening hot formed steels in order to achieve side-impact intrusion resistance. These are ~2x as strong as the highest strength aluminum grade used in auto body structures
Great article in MetalForming Magazine about GEA's use of formability simulation to drive down die development costs while improving quality and speed to market. Article mentions John Panozzo, Rob Mais, and John Kaikis - congrats to them and their team! https://t.co/ccNmZTUwh3
Free webinar about strain analysis and Forming Limit Curves on Friday June 23 - Learn why we can't use just tensile testing for formability characterization. https://t.co/TXFLKSey7m

I think this is a great article. Peter Ulintz TIM STEPHENS and anyone else: We always hear about "tool & die" together, but what is the difference between them? What is the difference between a tool maker and a die maker? Is a tool used only for punchin…https://t.co/7eoSdXNi3X

This is one of the few times I've seen a reference to the premium steelmakers will charge for green steel. "SSAB estimates that the gross premium on steels with almost zero fossil CO2e emissions will be around EUR 300/tonne." https://t.co/Ei6X0JXicN
