Good Friday is not just a story of suffering, it is the divine exchange. Jesus took our sin so we could receive His righteousness. He carried our pain so we could walk in peace. Because of Him, we are no longer bound by sin, but invited into a life of freedom, holiness, and restored relationship with God.

Today, we remember: His sacrifice was the price, and our freedom is the promise. ✝️

My wife was a 5th grade teacher at the same public school for almost 30 years in the Denver area. She loved the children she taught, the teachers she worked with and the administration she worked for. She refused to compromise her faith and was known by all for being a conservative, evangelical Christian.

She retired almost five years ago. To this day, Debbie is a teaching legend in our town. Almost everywhere we go people, young and old, run up to her and say, “Mrs. Stier, I was in your 5th grade class back in (fill in the year)” and then they go on to tell her how much she impacted their lives.

My loving wife almost always remembers their names (even from decades ago) and the names of their parents. Over the years she pointed countless children, parents and fellow teachers to Jesus.

Being a strong Christian witness in the darkest places is so important in today’s culture.

If all the Christian teachers leave the public schools these schools will become increasingly and irrevocably dark places.

If you are a Christian and thinking about being a teacher, consider teaching in a public school. Daniel shined in pagan Babylon in the midst of unimaginable spiritual darkness. You can shine brightly in a public school.

If you don’t believe me just ask my wife.
