@DOBrienATL I hope we give Yadi a chance. His baseball IQ and instincts are off the charts. Plus, he also speaks Spanish and is a fiery guy. I think he would fit in very nicely.
@LockedOn_Braves If he doesnβt regain something close to at least 97mph avg fastball per start, I think we should switch him to closer. There, he would get about one inning per appearance and can let it rip (fastball) without having to preserve his energy through multiple innings.
@ShortStopBall Yadi would be a great fit, IMO, because:
1. Baseball IQ is through the roof
2. Strong track record at helping pitchers improve
3. Fiery guy (I feel that would help us out a lot)
4. Very aware of each moment during games
5. Bilingual (great for communicating with AcuΓ±a, others)
@ShortStopBall Andruw was the best i ever saw. Simmons was great but I remember quite a few times he would bobble routine grounders but would still get the out because of his insane arm. Not close to Andruw IMO.
@ShortStopBall I would love for Strider to learn a splitter. There have been a lot of guys who have (or had) success with a mid 90s fastball and a splitter (Roger Clemens the best one I can remember). He could get Smoltz to teach him.
@daltine_cracker I love Ronald. Human side in me wants him to be a Brave for life. But the analytical side in me says that two major surgeries, one on each knee, tells me he could be pretty injury prone after his 30s. My heart wants him to stay, my mind says trade him while his value is insane.
@thekididk1234@JerryJ77777@mlbbowman I agree with Jerry. I watched most Braves games when Simmons was our SS. It was not rare to see him bobble a grounder here and there, but often got the out cause of his insane arm strength.
@chdisciple@b_outliers His last hits the last couple of weeks have been almost all while batting RH. His lefty ABs and stats are pretty bad (he has not been great LH historically, but not like the last couple of seasons). I really like Ozzie, but my only hope of a turnaround is if he hits RH only.
