The man who comes up with solutions always ends up as a liar. The dynamics change with the time. What this country needs is a good manager with a heart for people. Foreign interests will always be a pressure point but should not be a priority. Promote the interests of the nation and this will entail foreign investors to respect us and our laws and culture. That I believe is the main point.
Longevity is one aspect that God wrote in our hearts. The hope for life and the perception that one will outlive himself is a mystery only known to God. It is also the reason we love ourselves and fellow humans and also the reason why religion makes sense. Without that life is meaningless.
The challenge we have is to politicise the grade 12 qualification. I sat for the Examination council of Zambia at form five towards its end resulting in grade twelve. And I admired those that did Cambridge which included my elder brother. So this that is happening to ba Dorika is absolute nonsense. And it worries me that we are now treating politics as the ultimate career, which shouldn’t be. Success in business, work career and academics should be the ultimate.
@LankyObserver Things don’t always remain the same. That market is now challenged and with what has happened in Iran options are becoming an attraction. I promise you, it won’t be the same going forward, however innovative the Sheikh and his team will be.
I spent three hours on that border trying to clear my vehicle. So I don’t rate them that highly worse that it was the first time I was using it. On my way back on Saturday, it was so smooth such that I keep asking myself what wrong I had done. I went back the officer who added to me to get assurance that all was well. And he said yes.
The Jews that settled in what is called Zambia include the Susman brothers and more. Read the books called Zion in Zambia and the Susman brothers, Africa trading empire. These two books will give you context for you to understand that the group was much bigger than the highlighted. The Susman brothers went to form Woolworths in SA and Marks and Spencer in the UK.
@nkowane1@BuyoyaJonah Not sure how this is related to exporting maize products rather than maize itself. Unfortunately the plight of small scale farmers and the level of poverty in the rural areas make it imperative for government subsidy. The politics of maize make the situation far worse
@SentimentalCook There is a report circulating purporting that Zambia exported $30bn worth of copper and cobalt in 2025. If that indeed is true, I will challenge the GDP of $30bn. The fact that these exports are receipted outside the country is irrelevant.
