This reminds of that one time i was bored in the bar and i was reading “act like a lady but think like a man” and my friends called me performative 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Small correction, it’s not Zeus who takes Athena down, Greek soldiers behead her statue and kill a priestess with her face during Troy’s fall. But the real twist is even wilder, Nolan flat out said in an interview that this Athena might not be a goddess at all, she could be Odysseus’s own guilt given a face, haunting him the whole movie. She was never weak against Zeus. She might not have been a god to begin with.
@twilitaries If memory serves me right it wasn’t Raava that gave the avatars their bending but the lion turtles. Raava just gave the access of reincarnation and connection.
In many modern interpretations, especially Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, the violation isn’t that the horse itself was forbidden.
The problem is that the Greeks disguised a weapon as a sacred offering. They presented the Trojan Horse as a gift dedicated to the gods, exploiting the sacred rules of hospitality, piety, and religious trust. By hiding soldiers inside what appeared to be a holy offering, they turned something meant for worship into an instrument of deception and slaughter.
That’s why it’s framed as violating Zeus’ sacred laws. The crime wasn’t just trickery, it was corrupting something sacred for the purpose of war.
Imagine meeting Jesus when you were 16 and now 7 years later he calls you on your work phone mid-shift talking about some "Pull up to my house, bring some cheetos"
@jetsetjohnson@coachella Tbh just hear me out when I say this. They probably can’t afford it. That Beychella broke their pockets and now you want THE Stevie Wonder!
@dash71287 As someone that reviews maintenance requests across 26 multi family sites (roughly 244 units each). You would be surprised at how common some people don’t know how to live.
