🇪🇸 Jofre Torrents (LB, ‘07) - AFC Ajax (Barcelona)

Jofre Torrents just got presented as the latest Ajax signing. Because of the strong links with Ajax’s new technical director Jordi Cruijff and Barcelona, this exciting move became possible for Ajax. Read. @Danroymiguel’s analysis here:

What can Ajax expect? First of all, Jofre brings some welcome height to the Ajax defense (1.87m). Although his height could suggest a player who is known for his physical abilities, his pure strength is not his unique selling point. I would describe him as a very intelligent player with good ball-playing and controlling abilities. He uses his body fairly well in duels, so with some good work in the gym, he could become a very interesting talent.

The Ajax coach, Míchel Sánchez, likes his left-back to play in the left half-space, almost as an extra number 10 in possession. This role may suit Torrents very well because of his great technique and good stamina. He could become a real threat to opponents with his vision.

Hopefully, he will get lots of first-team football and be able to take the next step in his development.

[Danroy Cerneüs @Danroymiguel]

Now off to Ajax, very very very excited to follow his development closely!
