On 28th June, Huawei held the #LEAP summit in Shanghai. LEAP stands for leadership, employability, advancement and possibility. The event was co-hosted by Huawei and the African Telecommunications Union (ATU), an official partner program of #MWC24.
We had dignitaries across Africa attending the event, including Mr. John OMO, Secretary General @atu_uat, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, Principal Secretary @EduMinKenya, Amb. Lynette Mwende Ndile, Deputy Head of Mission and Chancery at The Kenyan Embassy in Beijing, Mr. Jeff Wang, Senior Vice President, President of Public Affairs and Communications @Huawei and Mr. Hover Gao, President of Huawei Sub-Saharan Africa among others.
We had our main man, the #SeedsForTheFuture Global Ambassador from Kenya, Danton Kipkurui, who really nailed his role as the ambassador by enjoying his interactions with the other seeds from across the world. He is among 9 other global ambassadors that have been chosen from other regions in the world.

As part of the tour, the 4 attended the @GSMA#MWC24 in Shanghai where they were able to interact with several emerging technologies, which was a great eye opener for them. They visited the various exhibitions to see the progresses being made in the tech industries, such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G and so much more.
Last week, we had 4 Kenyans join the #SeedsForTheFuture tour in China for a period of 1 week. This tour saw them visit various industries including the Huawei exhibition centres, the R&D centre in Shenzhen, a tour of the digital government offices, attending the MWC in Shanghai, visiting the Huawei flagship store and capping the tour by attending the Huawei LEAP summit. The tour was quite enlightening to the 4 youth, who had an amazing experience and had lots to share about the experience.
