@ChristyATucker No. I’ve never used it. I used to study Spanish using Rosetta Stone and I had gotten pretty far into it. Then I got way too busy to keep up with it. I’d love to get back to that.

@caranorth11 There was a real push for soft skill training in past years. That is no longer the case. Combine that with the impact of short hand texting, social media and a decrease in face to face interactions … something had to give.

If there's one thing I know to be true about the world of instructional design and eLearning development, it's that everyone has a different opinion and definition of what instructional design is and what instructional designers do on a day-to-day basis.

Part of what makes the role of instructional design such a challenge to define is that it can be a role in and of itself or a component of your role. In other words, depending on how you look at it, instructional design can be your job or a function of your job.
