Day 18/31

An open connection could be putting your device at risk right now!

A firewall monitors network traffic and blocks connections that violate its security rules.

It helps prevent unauthorized access, but it cannot stop every threat.

Is your firewall turned on?

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is your device's unique digital mailing address. Just like your home address lets mail find your house, an IP address lets the internet send data like websites and messages straight to your screen!

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

How does a website know exactly which screen to send a picture to out of billions of connected devices?

It uses your IP address.

Here is a quick breakdown of how IP addresses work👇

Day 17/31

One leaked password could put multiple accounts at risk!

Credential stuffing happens when attackers use stolen passwords to try accessing other accounts.

Never reuse passwords. Use unique passwords for every account.

Do you reuse the same password?

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 16/31

Your password could be under attack right now!

In a brute-force attack, attackers use automated tools to try many password combinations until they find the correct one.

Use long, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 15/31

Your device could be spying on you without your knowledge!

Spyware is malicious software that secretly monitors your activity. It can track what you type, collect personal data, or steal passwords.

Avoid suspicious downloads and review app permissions.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 14/31
Imagine losing access to all your files!

Ransomware locks files by encrypting them and demands payment to restore access.
Attackers often spread it through malicious links, attachments, or vulnerable systems.

Protect yourself with regular backups and software update

@cyber_razz 😂 Imagine being so good at spotting phishing that you start reporting the actual emails from your own IT department.

Bro followed the training TOO well 😭

Day 13/31

One careless download could infect your device!

Malware is harmful software designed to damage devices, steal data, or spy on users.

It can arrive through malicious links, fake apps, or infected downloads.

Before installing anything, check its source.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 12/31

A security flaw is an open door. A patch helps close it!

When developers discover a vulnerability, they release a security patch to fix it.

Without the patch, attackers may exploit that weakness to steal data or gain access.

Install security updates promptly!

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 11/31

Your outdated software could be a hacker’s opportunity!

Updates often fix security weaknesses that attackers exploit to access devices or steal data.

Ignoring updates leaves known vulnerabilities unpatched.

When your device asks for a security update, don't ignore.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

The internet runs on trust and rules. Protocols are those rules. When someone decides not to follow them honestly, the same system that connects us becomes the path for the attack. Small knowledge here goes further than people expect.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

@CybrCrtMastery Thats a nice addition.
Thanks.

Day 10/31

Public Wi-Fi: What risks should you consider?

Fake hotspots and insecure networks can expose you to scams or data theft.

Avoid sensitive transactions on untrusted Wi-Fi. Use mobile data when possible, and never ignore security warnings.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Most people use the internet every day without knowing the rules that make it work. Those rules are called protocols. They’re the reason your phone and a website can understand each other. Which one do you actually know by name?

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 9/31

HTTP vs HTTPS: Why encryption matters.

HTTP sends data without transport encryption, making it easier to intercept.

HTTPS encrypts data in transit, helping protect sensitive information.

Always look for HTTPS, but remember, it doesn't guarantee a safe website.

[Dappy Josh | Cybersecurity @DappyJoshCyber]

Day 8/31

HTTPS: What does the padlock actually mean?

HTTPS encrypts the connection between your device and a website.

The padlock helps protect your information while it is being sent.

But it does not prove that the website is safe.

Day 7/31

Social Engineering: The human side of cybersecurity.

Attackers don't always hack systems. Sometimes, they manipulate people into giving up information or access.

They may use trust, fear, or urgency.

Think before you trust.
