@jldorran@Alberta_UCP Way to detract from the point. And no, emergency services weren’t centralized under the NDP. Flaws in our system have been made worse, and people are in more danger because they wait longer. It’s a real, human price. “Nice try though.” Condescension doesn’t solve problems.
An experience calling 911 in Alberta. (A thread) I saw a man threatening another man with a knife this afternoon. I got out of harm’s way and called 911. It was in a public place in downtown Calgary. The operator answered and I started to tell her my emergency. 1/
I encourage folks to urge your MLAs to advocate for undoing this ridiculous mess that the @Alberta_UCP put in place during a #pandemic no less. #FiretheUCP
The man was out of my sightline and walking around. A man carrying a very sharp looking knife was walking around, putting more and more people at risk. It should NOT take that long to access emergency services. 3-4 minutes can be a matter of life or death, literally. 3/
@brettbergie This is terrible and completely unacceptable. I’m so sorry you had to see this hate and ignorance directed at you. Anyone who knows you in any capacity knows that you are an incredible human. Trans folks are some of the bravest and best folks out there.
Welcome back @BowValley fam! We hope you enjoyed your free BVC mug and coffee this morning. ☕ If you didn't get a chance to stop by, there are still few mugs left at the Learner Success Services reception, 1st floor South Campus.
