A client saying:
“Just make it look cool”
isn't necessarily a bad client.
But it's a bad brief.
Before touching the timeline, figure out:
-Who is watching?
-What should they feel?
-What should they do afterward?
Talking-head editing isn't about putting random images on screen every 2 seconds.
Every visual should answer one question:
Why should the viewer see this right now?
If you can't answer that, remove it.
Most editors try to make videos look better.
The best editors make videos feel faster.
You don't need an effect every 2 seconds.
You need:
- better pacing
- stronger visual hierarchy
- intentional sound design
- zero dead moments
