Irrespective of how toxic and uncultured some NSNV can beβ¦ this is actually a solid project from Seyi Vibez π€―π₯
From the choice of songs he used for the rollout, I honestly expected him to experiment more and focus heavily on the outside audience. But what we got is a proper βwe weβ Seyi Vibez sound and everybody who loves Seyi for what he naturally sounds like will definitely find their jam here.
Different patterns, different flows, but still all shades of Seyi Vibez.
On βVolume,β he talks about always wanting Godβs mercy regardless of how big he becomes. Even with all the success, he still wants more money, not just for himself, but to take care of his family and keep putting smiles on their faces.
Then βGodβ he went full Afrobeats mode, tapping directly from the source, Abami Eda, Fela Kuti. He talks about how little time we have in this lifeπ live while you can, let other people live, inconvenience no dey, let your brother shine. None of us is God, and nobody is leaving this earth alive anyway. π€²πΎ
Then we get to βIlome,β my favourite for now. He talks about the importance of money before going straight into proper self-praise, claiming that every song he sings is what angels are singing in heaven and whenever he dances, angels are dancing too. ππ
How can I argue with him when Iβve never been to heaven before? π
βAlafiaβ sounds exactly like its titleπ peaceful, beautiful and lovely! But please, if youβre single, approach this song with caution because you might start rethinking your entire life and suddenly want to fall in love. π
I almost texted my ex. π
Then βEl Jajaβ Seyi threw a sub at Adekunle Gold, basically saying heβs more stylish and has more swag than him because AG once said his own Fuji is not Fujimoto.
Since then, Iβve genuinely been comparing their pictures. ππ
On βAlubarika,β Seyi spends the song praying for divine elevationπ He doesnβt want to ever find himself in a position where he has to beg, borrow or get mocked by all these small-small Yahoo boysπ‘ And after all the stress and hustle, heβs also praying that death doesnβt come and cut the story short. πππΎ
Leave December for Seyi with βAkpan Apariβ (ENTA did one crazy job at the end of that shiiiiii π»π₯) and βObleβ.
Iβm still looking for Quavo on βSwaguuβ though. Make I know if he dey your side. ππ
Overall, the production is very solid.
Production: 9/10 π₯
For the lyrics, Iβll give it a 7/10.
I honestly believe Seyi Vibez can do better lyrically, especially considering what heβs capable of.
NB: Donβt judge any song too early! Listen to the tracks all the way to the end, the second verses are where the real madness starts. π€―π₯
