Heartbreaking to hear about the killing of a minor girl in Budgam who was on her way to Darasgah.
A society that stops being shocked by the killing of its daughters is a society losing its conscience.
Laws for women's safety have become more effective and essential than ever before. Measures to ensure the safety and security of women in the workplace are also being strictly enforced and implemented. Women are more empowered today than ever before. Numerous schemes, laws, and policies aimed at women's welfare and empowerment have been effectively put into practice.
@Kashmirwomens@MahboobaHassan It was a wonderful experience with such a women who are leaders and self initiate the social causes
They out rightly rejected the dowry culture and are standing against this menace
Proud of you all
Our daughters are our pride, not commodities. Say no to dowry, promote simple Nikahs, and stand for the dignity and honour of every daughter. Listen to this mother's heartfelt message.
Reject proposals where demands, or greed begin from the start. A person who values money over dignity rarely stops at one demand. Many women suffer lifelong abuse because society normalizes “small expectations” in the name of tradition.
Protect daughters withrights, not with dowry
Fear of being stopped, checked at checkpoints, questioned by security personnel, or getting into uncomfortable situations discouraged many women from moving freely in public spaces in kashmir for decades.

Teachers hold one of the most respected roles in society. With the responsibility of shaping young minds, they must uphold ethics, responsibility, and proper boundaries with students. Today’s discussion highlights these important aspects.
Medical examinations were conducted. Physical examinations were carried out. CCTV footage was reviewed. Digital evidence was analysed. Every possible angle was investigated and in the end, everything proved one thing: the teacher from Sopore was innocent.
Yet for almost a month, this man lived as an accused in the eyes of society.
Before the Hon’ble Court pronounced its verdict, social media had already delivered its own. Keyboard warriors, self-proclaimed Facebook journalists and people hungry for views and attention turned allegations into conclusions. Without facts, without patience and without conscience, they publicly defamed a man whose only mistake was becoming the target of an accusation.
Today, when the court has cleared his name, where are those people now?
Will they publicly apologise for destroying a man’s dignity?
Will they apologise to his parents who spent sleepless nights?
Will they apologise to his family and friends who silently carried the burden of shame, fear and humiliation?
Who will compensate for the trauma they underwent?
Who will return the peace of mind this innocent man lost?
In Kashmiri, there is a famous saying: “GAAWIE MAARE BOZAAN SEERRI, TI DAAANDI MAARE CHUN BOZAN KAHIN.”
That is exactly the tragedy of our society today.
We are living in times where every smartphone user thinks he is a journalist, a judge and a moral police officer. A single post, a cropped video or an emotional narrative is enough for people to assassinate someone’s character without waiting for truth or evidence.
If the allegations had turned out to be true, society would have demanded strict punishment, and rightly so. But now when the man has been proven innocent, will the same society have the courage to question the false narrative that ruined his life?
An innocent teacher from Sopore will now carry this trauma for the rest of his life. Even though the court restored his innocence, society rarely erases labels once they are thrown at someone.
This incident is not just about one man. It is a reminder of how dangerous trial by social media has become. Justice cannot be decided through Facebook posts, WhatsApp forwards or emotional hashtags. Allegations are not convictions, and humanity demands that we wait for truth before destroying someone’s honour.
Today, the court proved his innocence. But the scars left by society may never heal.
@Kashmirwomens Building business is indeed not easy comes with lot of challenges and constraints but the way women are handling the units is really appreciable.

Dowry has become a common practice in different forms. Sometimes it is presented as a way of securing a daughter’s future, while at other times it turns into financial expectations from the bride’s side as well. Whether the pressure comes from the groom’s family or the bride’s family, marriage should never become a transaction. The need of the hour is mutual understanding, simplicity, and genuine social reform from both sides. Dowry is a social, moral, and ethical crime.
The Kashmir Women’s Organisation, as part of its campaign against the drug menace, has conducted a series of events, and today an event was conducted at Chinkipora, Sopore, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office, Baramulla.
The organisation is highly thankful to the district administration and the Social Welfare Department for their collaboration and support. The organisation is also looking forward to such events in the future, where society and youth can benefit on a large scale.
We invite all stakeholders to join the fight against the drug menace.

Modern education Vs Radicalism
In my opinion education must empower us, give us a sense of confidence, develop peace within a person and in nations not radicalise people force them in hatred, discrimination, revenge and violence
