I got a call from someone in 2024 or so.
He said he was referred to me by Mrs Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode.
I was like, same Mrs Oyebode, Murtala's daughter?
He said yes, his long time friend.
We had never interacted before. I never knew she knew me. I'm not aware she is active on social media (where I could have guessed she would know me from). How she got my number to give the person still unknown to me. How she referred someone to me still remains a mystery.
I met the person in London few months later.
But till today, I have not met her and I don't know how I came to her mind when she wanted to recommend someone to the person.
You ask for what you want from him without anyone influencing your decision, so why can’t he also ask for what he wants without being questioned? If it’s not your thing, then do yourself a favour and move on. 😂😂😂
Reading the story of #LagosLife founder on Zikoko and something caught my attention.
She learned coding in 2018 and got her first gig in 2020 which paid her N60k which she used to buy a Charles Babbage-gen laptop.
She was always posting about her work on Facebook and, one day in 2021, someone contacted her from Malaysia and hired her to be paying her $1k monthly.
She didn't apply. $1k in 2021 was about N500k. Big money for a 21 year old girl in Aba.
That's the importance of visibility. Showing your work.
Showing her work on Facebook got her a remote job she didn't apply for.
Full respect to Chilean referee Fernando Véjar, who officiated Messi’s farewell.
Before blowing the final whistle, Véjar asked Messi if he wanted to play a little bit more of added time or if he should end the match. Lionel told him that it was enough.
The referee blew the whistle and then gave Messi the match ball as a gift, along with his cards. ❤️
Nowadays, I do here some people saying some Yorùbá proverbs are contradicting.
Common one is the iṣẹ́ lògùn ìṣẹ́ vs iṣẹ́ kọ́ lowó.
No contradiction whatsoever. I explained that in this video.
