We Think Mazda Is Trolling Us with the CX-70 :
Mid-size crossover SUVs are a diverse bunch, with automakers offering both stubbier two-row and longer three-row options. And then there are a few that blend the gap, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Toyota Highlander, which cast shadows closer to those of two-row mid-size models while still offering three rows of seats.
Given Mazda’s naming structure and the secrecy surrounding the CX-70 since the three-row CX-90’s debut almost a year ago, we assumed the brand’s new two-row mid-size model would follow in the treadmarks of its five-seat peers, trading the third row of its bigger stablemate for less overall length to improve maneuverability (not to mention a better shot at fitting in most garages). Well, we assumed wrong, because the CX-70 is not a smaller but mechanically similar sibling to the CX-90: it’s a CX-90 with one less row. (The CX-70 is pictured above on the left, and the CX-90 is pictured on the right.)
It's a strange and somewhat deceptive decision on Mazda's part if you ask us. It's especially odd considering the automaker already produces and sells the CX-60 overseas. The CX-60 is a smaller two-row mid-size crossover SUV that shares many of its mechanical bits with the CX-90 (and, in turn, the CX-70), but it sits on a wheelbase that’s 10 inches shorter and wears distinct body panels. It's more than a foot shorter than the mid-size models Mazda sends our way.

Two Doors and 35-Inch Tires
For the first time in forever, 2024 Jeep Wranglers with a single door on each side can be equipped with big ol' tires and a handful of other upgraded off-road hardware. That's part of the newly available Xtreme Recon package, which is similar to the one that's already offered on four-door Wranglers.
The off-road-enhancing kit includes the aforementioned 35-inch tires courtesy of BFGoodrich, which supplies a set of LT315/70R-17 All-Terrain T/A K02s. The burlier rubber is mounted on beadlock-capable 17-inch wheels. A reinforced rear swing gate and a 4.56:1 axle ratio are included too.

2025 Dodge Charger, Jeep Wagoneer S to Share STLA Large Platform :
Stellantis has revealed details about its new STLA Large platform, which is expected to underpin the 2025 Dodge Charger and Jeep Wagoneer S EV.
The flexible platform can accommodate AWD, FWD, and RWD configurations as well as electric, hybrid, and internal-combustion powertrains.
Along with providing up to an estimated 500 miles of range, EV versions of STLA Large are claimed to deliver a zero-to-62-mph time of about 2.0 seconds.
Stellantis—the parent company of familiar brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram—today divulged details about its new STLA Large platform. The company said the flexible architecture is expected to underpin upcoming models from Dodge and Jeep that will launch later this year.
That implies the electric 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S, which yesterday was confirmed to be arriving in the U.S. this fall. Last week, Dodge released several teaser images of the 2025 Charger on its social media channels, mentioning that it'll be "available late 2024."

2024 Honda Odyssey First Test: Bigger Than Pilot—But Better?
What, exactly, is mini about this van? Honda gives the Pilot SUV more attention, but the 2024 Odyssey remains a viable alternative as a three-row family hauler. That's largely because it's, well, large. The Odyssey's size gives it tremendous people-carrying capacity and versatility, while defining the driving experience. We caught up with this practical people mover to see how it runs among today's swirling three-row vehicle segment.
