It’s always an honour to be a longlist judge in the Ngaio Marsh Awards. And a relief not to have to be the one who chooses the Best Novel from such an excellent longlist. If you are looking for your next read, choose one of these great reads! #yeahnoir#2022Ngaios
After a tough judging process thanks to a remarkable array of entrants, we're stoked to reveal the longlist for the 2022 Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Novel. Kia ora rawa atu to all our fab entrants & whakamihi to the dozen storytellers who've made the #2022Ngaios longlist #yeahnoir
@AngelaBilbow That’s like the Dirty Dancing finale - to the Muppets theme. Check that one out - I found it strangely compelling and nostalgic (for the Muppet Show) 😂
@AngelaBilbow 😂 ah the memories… although I’m pretty sure I reviewed something recently where the author also had a very loose relationship with apostrophes.
@ausmazehanat During Ramadan last year, our masjid had 2 rooms for women - 1 for those who wanted quiet for the Taraweh prayers, and one for those who have children and may therefore be slightly distracted. Each room had a very different energy.
@Kiwimrsmac Kind of like my trip to Morocco. I was supposed to leave on 25 December. Their border closed on 29 November and hasn’t reopened yet, and the numbers still keep going up. Getting boosted tomorrow…
@warninternation @mindyckiwi Not going to lie - one of my biggest disappointments is that the 5G myth was a myth. Could have had free internet and perfect reception for life… 😂😂😂
@JamesElliott8 The omens are real. Last year as I was walking through Britomart, past my favourite sushi shop, a bird flying over head let one fly which landed with a splat on the front of my shoe. (Not an easy manoeuvre) Within a week we were in Delta lockdown.
@jeremysuttonnz@NZ_Lawyer I’m not sure as I left in 2013… and it sold to a new publisher after I left. Try their website, they should have an email address for editorial content listed. Good luck 😊
@jeremysuttonnz@jeremysuttonnz you could try the NZLawyer editor. I’ve been away from the legal news world for a long time now, but I always start with the editor if I’m pitching a story.
@happykiwi_nz@farmer164@rosscarterbrown@MariaSherwood2 I also get the flu shot every year, and only had a sore arm. However, both times I had a stress headache (from work), and within 20 minutes of having the vaccine it was gone. Better than the painkillers I’d used all week. :)
@DebErelene Does yours have lights that dance?! Mine could have but our IT guys weren’t keen on me downloading the software lol tbh I didn’t even tell them about the new keyboard either for ages.
Kia ora rawa atu to all involved with #2021Ngaios: entrants, libraries, judges , supporters. We had a wonderful livestream today. Thanks to all our finalists & special guests. Another fab Ngaios season done. Looking forward to 2022, after a wee rest.
Winners in vid. #yeahnoir
@Kiwimrsmac I too am trying to reinstate level 4 conditions. Mr16 wanted Uber eats. I said nope. Not with 71 cases, when he’s just started Cambridge exams, and has only had one jab. #level4forus
Tune in at 10am on Tuesday 7 September, as the full lists of our #2021Ngaios finalists will be revealed. Kia ora rawa atu to all this year's entrants. You gave our judges some terrific reading. #yeahnoir is in good shape. @WORDChCh#ReadNZ
@ausmazehanat I have occasionally walked well behind my husband but only because he tears off in all directions on a hunt for something, and I’m trying to avoid witnessing his endless need to haggle with shop owners.
